aside from the whole rabies thing, bats are pretty awesome.

the whole all bats carry rabies thing is a myth.. less than 1/10th of 1% of bats carry the disease or about the same percentage in other wild animals and it slowly kills them

they eat their own weight in insects a day so im very happy they decided to set up roost in my barn

yes, my niece has been reading the twilight books and insisted it was a vampire bat. she is a very precocious kidlet

i safely removed a bat from the apartment of three hysterical dudes who were at least twice my size (and i'm no pipsqueak) using a laundry basket and a pillow

they thought it was the god damn bravest thing they'd ever seen

and i'm like dudes w/e it's a bat lol
