Question about computer and TV

I talked to a guy that was telling me when he was in school he could hook his laptop into the TV somehow and whatever showed up on the laptop screen, went to the TV.

How do I do that? I never thought about it until he mentioned i. I have so many TV series and movies on here and it would be bad ass to be able to do that ><

Is there a certain cable or something?

Depends on your laptop, most likely either HDMI or S-Video.

i was going to say, it's about as simple as just connecting the 2

I have a port that says HDMI on it on the side of this thing. Ill see what I can find~ Thx

well yeah, that's it

you just need to plug a HDMI cable into that, and the other end into your TV

then there's usually a key combo to hit

on my laptop it's FN F8

(usually see a CRT/LCD label in blue writing on the key)

I see exactly what you mean. On mine is FN F4. Cool, this wont be as hard as I thought. thanks guys~
