Super hot charger thing

Postby Gaazy » Fri Sep 18, 2009 10:26 pm

Ok, so i just in the past couple days have noticed the charger would flicker on and off and didnt work quite right. I just got to looking at it and the first thing I noticed was that when I pulled it out, it was HOT. The metal part of of the plug in is melted and blackened a little actually, and around the inside of the hole on the computer, its got a little melted spot.

Anyone ever seen anything like this? Is it the computer, or do I need to try and find a new charger or something?

And something else I just realized, is that this charger is not the one that came with the machine. I bought it at Staples. but, Ive had it for over a year, so why does it act up now

any ideas?

manufacturer's defect. try to get it fixed with your warranty. it's an issue with your motherboard. something to do with poor soldering. if you don't have a warranty you're looking at replacing your board or taking it to a shop and having the power jack replaced
