I'm leaning towards picking one of these up

I really am not a fan of iTunes at all. do you HAVE to use iTunes to load shit onto it? or can you just drag and drop via explorer?

i have a shuffle and similarly hate itunes. while i think you do in fact HAVE to use itunes, i've found that at the very least, you can drag and drop files from explorer into your ipod's files in itunes, if that makes sense. example: itunes for whatever reason does not recognize my limewire folder, so i'll open the folder with explorer and drag and drop tracks from the folder into my shuffle's playlist in itunes.

With an ipod touch, you are required to use itunes at this time. There are still a ton of people working on alternative methods for Linux users but right now there just isn't anything.

You can download and install games directly from the Ipod touch itself.

As others noted, moving files from the PC to the pod requires itunes, and it's sucktasticness.
