Does it really matter if baseball players use roids. I think it should really only be an issue in contact sports. Arent homeruns what baseball is all about ? If roids let niggaz knock the ball into orbit maybe the whole leauge should take them.

Terrible sportsmanship...it's like if we let fighters use roids in Pride, UFC, WEC....

I agree they shouldn't be used. Still, some of the sanctimony about them from generations of previous players who took mass quantities of Speed for the exact same reasons I find to be incredibly hypocritical.

That said, I thought the content of his admission was BS. Suuuuure steroids gave you no strength advantage... Riiiight. Not to mention, he said he only took them to get better from injuries... Yet he started them in what, 89? He was incredibly healthy until like 92. Hmmm... starts steroids when healthy, within a couple years the body breaks down... Gee, I wonder if there's a linkage...

top three bullshit things about this whole mess:

      1. as arlos said, the claim that he was only juicing for health reasons and not to become massively muscly. who did he think was going to buy that?
      2. tony larussa said he didn't know until monday. really, tony? REALLY? you fucking liar, you managed the guy for over a decade and you didn't know???
      3. mcgwire is STILL trying to throw canseco under the bus, as though mcgwire somehow has a fucking leg to stand on? rofl yeah

you know, say what you want about canseco - he's a morally devoid scoundrel, he was a terrible player, blah blah blah - but at least he's not chickenshit
