Mass Effect 2

Post by Durothil Skyreaver »

I'm currently working my through Mass Effect, trying to actually finish it instead of playing for a few days then giving up for 6 months. Has anyone played the sequel yet? I haven't really heard anything bad about it, but I'm interested in some opinions.

i think it sucks

i'm sure it's just because i haven't played very much yet but... so far i haven't seen the little planet rover. and it feels more linear than the first

A buddy of mine is playing it right now and said it was the best game he's ever played.

I actually like the new combat system, but I miss having the inventory and the spartan skill system doesn't feel like enough for me. Still a really good game. Once I finish up Stalker:CoP I'll head back to it.

price on PS3: $50
price on PC: $20
hooray for mouse and keyboard (plus my PS3 is gonna crap out any day now)

picked this up a couple weeks ago, enjoyed it quite a bit. wish it was longer, because
Spoiler for :
it's like intro -> gather team -> do main quest -> gather more team -> final battle.

i haven't tried any of the DLC yet, but i probably could've finished in half the time if i hadn't done so much mining for minerals. i'd like to see ME2's universe and story with A) 200% more optional content and B) a borderlands-style skill tree for each toon

it was really fun picking out all the voice actors though :)

bioware will never make a game like that tho. all their games are straight lines. i figured i like watching people play their games more than i like actually playing them. because they're just interactive movies

rails or not, it was still a fun ride

and you can tell it's bioware too - several times i was reminded of NWN. yaaay i fixed the plague, but oh no, now they're assholes!

I enjoyed ME2, though the PC adaptation wasn't done as well as ME1. Can't wait for ME3 this fall.

Note that if you imported a character from ME1 and got into any of the relationship trees, it DOES screw up the ME1 relationship. There are other things that will carry over from ME1 to ME3 too, which I find pretty cool.

yeah i think i should probably dig up a copy of ME1 and then do ME2 again before ME3 comes out just so it's all in order :eyecrazy:
