Project 1999 server, EQ classic

Post by KaiineTN »

Relatively new server up on EQ emu called Project 1999. It's all classic, down to the spell icons and pets not zoning with you. Would be awesome to see some of you play there! Nizzarr and Lofwyr are playing there. That's all I've ran into so far.

One thing that is particularly interesting about this server is that boxing is not allowed, and considering that, it is the highest population EQ emu server by far (Over 300 people at times).

I'll gladly help out anyone starting up.

I have a few friends playing this. Don't think I could ever go back though.

When I created a shortcut to the everquest startup icon, I followed the directions and renamed the target path to: C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe patchme but I can't apply it because I get an error message that says it's an invalid path. :(

Looks like that should work... only thing I can think of is maybe that path isn't correct?

On Vista mine looks like this exactly: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme

Maybe you need quotes for something too. I think mine were there before though.

yea you need the quotes and then patchme outside of it

i installed and made a bard and got to level 4 but it was taking way too long to level up to 5 and get selo's so i quit

and there were willowisps everywhere around kelethin and that made bard AE dps song basically useless unless you like turning it on and off all day as you constantly watch in 3rd person over your shoulder for mobs that didn't even exist there originally

PS: way to necromancy a thread about this when there was already a 4 page thread at the top of the forum about it!

I started this weekend =).

7 halfling druid vonkaar... thx fefn for hooking me up :angel2:

Does anyone know of a good site that I can sort items and figure out what gear I need? It'll obviously need to have the ability to filter 'classic only' or simply be a classic-only site.

anything?

I'm tired of finding +800hp / +75wis / 500dps god hammers for my lvl 7 halfling =p.

Haha I saw Vonkaar in EC yesterday and thought "Could it be? Nah" so I didn't bother saying anything!

http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=1348

This thread on p1999 has a bunch of info that only pertains to classic. Other than that basically what I have been doing is remembering old shit I used to have and using allakhazam to look up if it is classic or not. I think though if you pay for lucy/allakhazam you can do searches and there are checkboxes whether you want kunark, velious, etc items to show up as well.

Edit: P.S. When is someone gonna hook me up? =(

Of course, I probably didn't know that much to begin with. :-x

Anyone have a primer on where I should level? And... the FP to Qeynos path really goes through Highpass? That seems scary.

And holy fuck, I don't get Meditate until 30? bleh²

Lol you're tripping Vonk, you get meditate at 8. But you can't see it on the trainer until then. Highpass is a death trap, fuck that shit.

My advice is to hang around EC until 11-12 and just beg for DS from druids and mages in the tunnel.

Bunch of old LOS folks are playing this. As of right now, they're making a guild intended to eventually do raiding called Evil Empire.

I'll endorse the message by Arlos, and fill in some more details.

If you want in send me, or Trendi a tell. We'll take all levels/classes for now.

I'm still playing this guys if you need help with anything.

You can catch me on my lowbies. My guild is "Finawin and Company" everyone in it is either an alt of mine or a RL friend. So you can find me pretty damned easily.

Qeyto, Finawin, Finawins, and Halflin are all my characters. Anyone else is a RL friend of mine.

They've merged with TMO (The Mystical Order) to further their raiding needs.
