You can't beat OK. As much as I hate to say it... we can't. We have a GOOD team this year, but the problem is that Martinez is a freshman with NO real experience. He's not a QB - he's a running back. He panics and makes terrible choices and can't hold the ball to save his life. Now, I'm not slamming him - like I said he's just a kid... a freshman who last year was playing in front of a crowd of 300 parents - and now he's center stage with a crowd of 50,000 screams fans. He isn't ready, he shouldn't be out there.
We'll lose to OK as sure as I am sitting here barring a miracle. And, that's fine - we're not ready yet. A couple more years when this kid gets some experience we'll be ok.

yes and no - sure there's ohio state and wisconsin and a handful of other traditional powerhouses, but there's also scrub tier teams like minnesota and illinois and indiana and purdue
as for martinez, i'm with diek. when he's healthy he's a great running QB, but he's really a one-trick-pony. take away his running game and he's an empty-headed idiot who's easily rattled and prone to making game-blowing mistakes. not that he's the only one to blame, of course - pelini deserves plenty of blame for leaving him in so long. not to mention lining him up as a wideout? WHY??? at least throw someone in there that can block worth a damn.
give him a year or two to develop some pocket presence and figure out how not to telegraph every single pass, and yeah - he'll be a decent QB. but until then, he's a liability.

I'm with you on Newton. F that guy. It's like Vince Young all over again. All he does is keep bouncing runs outside yet defenders always bite on his inside juke. He's blatantly getting paid to play college ball yet they are letting it slide since TCU is #3 in the rankings and we can't have that.
And I hate to say it but Auburn is going to demolish Oregon which is going to make it all the richer when the wins and his upcoming Heisman get vacated a couple years down the road.
