I suggest refreshing yourselves on the controls and UI for now (seriously, feels very strange coming back to it), and then hopping on the new progression server when it opens on the 15th.

Maybe we'll get a group going and rock Crushbone, or Upper Guk, or Unrest.

i got this up and going. definitely sold me on it again. the vanilla EQ emu is painstaking if you aren't certain classes and akka's funhouse was just out of control stats game so it's nice to be back in real EQ again

Drem

but my guy is only 2 expansions behind so i'm like lvl 85 with 1500 AA. kinda pissed that i could buy a fucking 1hs at the bazaar that was oodles better than my solteris 1h

i also have twinks at 8, 46, 54, 57 and 65 and i'll be on as Drem or Hoocpu or Mugen.... maybe see some of yall around

not gonna be doing any progression servers tho. the whole point of me doing this is that i get back on my guy with hundreds of /played over the last 11 years so i stop making new guys and wasting time in other shit that ultimately isn't as enjoyable to me

adam you better get your fuckin paladin back up and come level with me. we got 5 more levels to do.......

and unfortunately i'm working evenings right now while we open this restaurant and train some more cooks so i i've been looking for you, almegest, but i haven't seen you yet. you still around?

I'm torn between rolling a bard or a mage on the progression server when it opens. Would be fun to roll a 6 mage group and just let pets kill nonstop.

What are you guys thinking, if you're going to make anything there?

I think that anyone who plays on the progression server is being robbed of their money.

P99 is a superior product in every way imaginable.

Since the first 10 days are free, I get what I pay for.

I just cannot for the life of me get into EQ. It bores me to tears now.

I guess since becoming a part timer, I like to play in short intervals by myself. What made EQ great for me were the friends & guildies.

yeah, also the learning curve. not knowing what we were doing made it a lot more exciting imo

p99 is pretty cool but i've become so attached to the AA system that i don't even want to play w/o it. wtf do you do after you max lvl? oh yeah, nothing. look for more gear. oh boy

they also screwed up the solo aspect of bards, forcing them to be group support or nothing at all unless you master the oval AE kite -.-

My girl and I are gonna play on the progression server for at least a few days. She's a gaming newbie but is excited to try it out. We rolled up gnomes and are going through the tutorial but will switch to Fippy tomorrow.

I'd have to see how well it runs in Parallels. I gave up on my desktop almost entirely & my MacBook is the primary machine these days (slowish by today's standards, but still a 2.2ghz Core2 w/ 4gb of ram).

I don't think I could handle playing progression, but I might give it a swing... I much rather prefer monster paladin + high level twink SK.

Downloaded it, logged in, found that they were so retarded as to not save your friends list serverside so I couldn't even check if any of my old friends whose character names I can't remember were on, glanced around the plane of Tranquility briefly, logged off and uninstalled. Not a chance I'd play it again.

They changed the way HT works.
It is pretty cool; works as a big DD + big dot after level 51 or something.

I have some HARDCORE stalkers. So I leave most of my connections to other people out that may lead to other places where they can find more personal information about me.

People are ridiculously deranged on that server, seriously.

My GF and I rolled up trolls on Vulak. Lvl 11 and loving it. It's not exactly old school EQ but pretty close.

They left a fuckton of quest items in the game that don't appear to have quests attached *yet*. Confusing. There is a lack of quests that I don't recall from the first time around. Seemed like there were a lot more back in the day.
