Segway done 1 better

Postby Arlos » Sun Mar 27, 2011 11:52 am

This is one of the cooler things I've seen recently. Some seriously advanced technology at work here.

Thoughts?

wanna touch that blonde

technologically this is awesome but realistically it's a horrible idea. walking around at work or at the store is the only exercise some (okay, most) people get

Having 5'2 110 pound women on this glorified unicycle is one thing. I'd like to see some corn fed ohio gals on it.

Brin, this would be good for seniors and disabled people.

that was freaking cool

seriously awesome tech if it actually is real

but yeah, it totally reminded of watching wall-e, and how humans devolved into fat slugs on riding machines

I always wonder why do people hate walking so much. Long as you arent in sandals walking is the shit and even then if you have the right pair it isnt so bad. Most places arent within walking distance for me to go otherwise id hoof it everywhere.

Looks like it's real, alright.

Looks like it takes some getting used to, for sure, though.

alright, that's fair

as long as it's "i am six thousand years old" or "i had an aneurysm and can't get around so well" and not "i got so fucking repulsively fat that my ankles will snap if i try to walk to the end of the driveway to check the mail"

I didn't see anything but flat surfaces there... I want to see it handle a wheelchair ramp.

The first video has one section where they're going up and down a ramp.

I see now.

Three things I would like to see now.

Battery life.
Performance with morbidly obese on top (talking ~300 lbs or more).
Performance on different surfaces over time: ice/snow, asphalt, & maybe some sand.

The technology in the wheels is neat, but I'm guessing failure prone.

Think of the social security savings though. Especially if they live near cliffs or large bodies of water.

Far cheaper and less politically dangerous than reform!

I think its hilarious when I go to wal mart or somethin and see people eeking and turning and goin round and round and round to get 3 spaces closer. Like that little fuckin walk will kill you. Come on. I always, always park at a further out spot just to get a little extra walk, unless its pissing the rain, or im hurt or something weird like that. But then again, I never take elevators either, always stairs. Thats where I get most of my exercise at is walkin around, like most people because I dont go to the gym. Most of these fat fucks walking around that weigh 300 pounds would do good for a little bit of walking rather than getting their handicap sticker and being lazy and letting their kankles get a little damn bigger

You wanna talk about exercise? Go hike around for a 12 hour shift in a 38" high mine lugging around 50 pound bags of rock dust and wrangling big fat cable around all day that weighs like 20 pounds a foot and is a couple thousand feet long. THAT will give you a workout and will work the fat off your bones and put some muscle on you. You can always pick out a coal miner at wal mart, even ones that are belt shovelers or or cable men especially...humongous arms and necks lol. Most people wouldnt last a day haha

wooo burn

i park in the first spot i see because i usually find that the time it would take to find a better spot is usually greater than or equal to the time it would take to walk the difference

hope you feel good about getting a slightly better spot, parktards - because i'm now ahead of you in line :D

I figured you drove a decent size pick up. I have a hard time parking my car sometimes because its a boat and people park shitty so i usually park near the back and walk up as well. I feel for ya.

Props on driving an f 250 though. To many people these days are starting to drive ricer trucks and its sad to me.

very sad. Im one of the fewer and fewer anymore who can say they have to have a truck. Work mostly, but Ive also got a boat and camper, stuff like that, and im not gonna be towin it around with a prius eh. Those little bumblebee sounding trucks make me laugh, everytime i see one go past i go weeeeeeeeee like a weedwhacker

i drive a 98 explorer XLT, and i call it a truck by god

people give me shit for it, but my justification is that before the 03 redesign, explorers were built on the F150 chassis

so basically it's an F150 with a permanent topper :)

and i need it because have you ever tried hauling around a cased-up drum kit and 100w half-stack guitar amp in a celica? lol
