I like a lot of music but my fave bands are the ones i grew up on. WIth hellmouth they put on an awesome set and just have raged filled lyrics about religion that i dig and raged filled lyrics about our city that i feel. DOnt get me wrong I like a lot of different music but i know where my roots and loyalties are as well.

yea i dunno i was into that kinda stuff when i was 15. i like jack white because i like the blues. and i like detroit techno because it's.... just totally its own thing. unique, and the birthplace of it all. makes all that fruity IDM shit sound weak

Detroit is home to many techno pioneers but there are plenty of examples of techno songs before Atkins, Saunderson, May, etc started producing.

Consider it an ongoing conversation about what we are doing with our lives. Right now we are talking about music. Feel free to join in

I finally got my guns back from the westland police dpt. My shotgun looks like they used it as a hammer and is mising the choke cap and spring, my carbine is rusty and the cylinder in my revolver is doesnt pop in and out easy. My glock on the other hand still looks and works perfect I dont think you can bust one of those if you try. Im glad the police took such good care of my babies but still at least Im armed again.

Soooo...
Summer is coming to an end, school is about to start up again, so I've got about 3 weeks left of less chaos and thought I'd pop in and see how everyone is doing.
I see Leah's fetus will be graduating college soon ;)

Things are status quo here, meaning the never ending rollercoaster is, indeed, neverending.
In brighter news, we'll be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary (thanks EQ) come October, and so we have been trying to think of what to do special for that coming day. I actually considered reactivating our EQ accounts so we could finally hitch our 2 chars together (we never married in game hahaha).
I'm learning this year that when one is going to have a garden, it's probably best not to go crazy and raise 30 tomato plants unless you are planning on selling some or have a whoooole bunch of people to give them away to.

How is everyone? What's new?

So I never share in this thread, but it's been an eventful, joyous, and heartbreaking summer so I'll share a few.

We bought out house last December, and everything's going great with that.. slow process filling it up, but it's getting there.

Finished up my AS in Business in June (with high honors and a 3.9 GPA, yay me) -- while an AS isn't much to some, it's a lot to someone who had to drop out back in the day due to working 2 jobs and getting crap grades because she was working two jobs. Going to go for my bachelor's, but the AS was a milestone because it meant being converted to permanent civil service.. which isn't exactly easy to get into with no hiring authority or vet preference.

Found out I was pregnant May 26. Had a blissful few weeks of excitement, then found out I was miscarrying on June 24. Went through a week of excruciating pain (emotional and physical), then found out 2 weeks after that that I still hadn't passed the baby and had to have a D&C. Had that last week. Grateful that it happened at 8 weeks and before I could see the heartbeat, but still sucked to go through.

Jonathan's gotten a few promotions in the past few months and is working as a network tech at the headend at Comcast. Come a long way in just 2 years from being an installation tech in the field. He just got his CCNA yesterday. And would you imagine that--he's still with me even after he's been a permanent resident and hasn't "needed me" for almost 4 years now. You can suck on donkey balls, Diekan.

I think that's pretty much it.. kind of bittersweet 2011 so far.

Thanks and nice pic Erik
That tomato hornworm will be dead before it turns into a moth, though. It's infested with wasp larvae. They aren't something I'm worried about as I actually tend my garden regularly (and you can't gross me out that easily ;))

Leah, I may yet ship you some LOL

Gyps, I'm so very sorry you guys had to go through that. We had a similar experience during the pregnancy before my little one :(
Congrats to you two on everything you've accomplished, and I'm so glad to hear you're going strong.

So sorry to hear about that Gyps. On a side note, start taking pre-natal vitamins now (with folic acid) if you're trying to conceive again.

Grats on getting a new truck, but Ford trucks > Chevy trucks in every conceivable way... Looks, reliability/dependability, power, payload capacity, sexiness, mpg, resale value, etc. etc. etc.

Wtf is a jape? Anyway, I did say grats on getting a new truck right? Here's a helpful hint for your Chevy truck though (no bullshit)... if you park it in your driveway, make sure to put a big piece of cardboard under it to catch the oil leaks. ;)
