atkins is just short term gain, long term failure type stuff. you'll see whenever you stop doing it. when you just can't handle staring at a warm french baguette with a bunch of awesome cheese and apple slices and grapes and almonds

and people that are on atkins for years at a time tend to get the gout. so stupid just to lose a few pounds

it's a lot smarter imo to just make everything you eat from scratch and not live a sedentary lifestyle.... you won't even know where the weight went

You shed a bunch of water weight initially but it's not sustainable

Realistically it's caloric intake Vs your metabolism.

Anything else is semantics

lol You're a tard. I haven't lost 32 pounds of water weight. Water weight is only a few pounds. The rest is fat loss.

You really don't understand how Atkins works then

It's all water weight

Funny thing is that you don't have to cut out ALL starchy carbs 100%. I still have my weekly slice of sourdough bread with salted butter. I just cut them all out during the induction phase. The ongoing weight loss phase (maintenance) allows you to add a few starchy carbs back in on occaision. Holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc. I will eat what the fuck I want. lol

I had a friend who went on Atkins and got a severe case of gout within the first few weeks. He had to walk with the help of a cane and couldn't drive his car. I had to drive him to the clinic.

mmmm baguette. seriously i think a good crusty bread and cheese is worth an extra hour at the gym, hehe.

anyway: carb deficiencies also cause your brain to start acting wonky--forgetfulness-type behavior. it's really unpleasant.

The health benefits of Atkins is worth any negative risks imo. Like I said, my blood pressure went down, my cholesterol went down, my blood sugar is normal, normal glucose, etc. I guess some people just can't tolerate Atkins for some reason, and that's just totally bizarre. You're pretty much just cutting out starch and refined sugars and replacing it with more veggies, fiber and protein. :dunno:

Just remember, your brain needs fat to function properly, so make sure you're still eating healthy fats. Avocados are a great source of good fat.

Menelvir's friend who got gout had the propensity to get gout. Atkins doesn't cause gout. Diet can cause a flareup if you already have gout.

Most people think of avocado as a vegetable regardless if its a "fruit." Same goes for tomatoes. Smartass

Any diet that makes you take stock in what you eat is going to help you lose weight. You're watching your sugar, eating mostly healthy shit, and probably excising a few times week. Blamo! Healthy lifestyle! Go eat all the bread you want. As long as your sensible and exercise you won't put back on the weight.

Absolutely, and Atkins provides a great catalyst for that. So we are in agreement again.

Did you know that tons of doctors and nutritionists agree with (and recommend) Atkins? Of course not. You only focus on the handful of people and quack doctors who say Atkins is bad. You're too dumb to have an intelligent discussion with. Go away little boy.
