Watching the wing game and feeling very pleased. Whatcha guys think about the season so far?

Another random thought... As far as sports go detroit is red hot right now. Lions are tearing it up, tigers are tearing it up, wings are looking good in their opener its a nice feeling to see detroit teams doing well.

Wings are going to be good, but I don't think they take the cup this year.

Call me a homer, but I really think that THIS year is the year the Sharks finally do it. They addressed their problem on D, and now have one of the best D corps in the league. Their top-6 is outstanding, and Joe Thornton finally learned how to raise his game in the playoffs.

I guess we'll see....

Your sharks blow it every year. Im going to go out on a limb here and say that this isnt going to be the sharks year either. Your totally being a homer. Your team has skills but no heart. How many times has san jose looked awesome only to fall apart at the end of the run ?

Antti Niemi. Won a cup with Chicago.

He missed game 1 recovering from minor surgery. (had a cyst removed)

Our main backup, Niittymaki is out for the first 3-4 months due to major surgery. So, our current backup is a rookie named Greiss. Fairly well regarded as a prospect, from everything I've read.

niemi was the weak link on the chicago team. there's a reason they dumped him

niemi wasn't great but he wasn't that bad, plus he played pretty well last year.

the hawks didn't get rid of him, they had to let him go because of their salary problems (same as half of their team)

Ottawa is going to be bad, but damn fun to watch. They just need to get rid of Kuba and Gonchar.

As much as it pains me to give burke any credit, or to speak well of the leafs, i think they have the best D in the league. Hell, they've been sitting Cody Franson and he could be a top 4 on many teams, plus they have Aulie in the minors

it's ridiculous how tight the central division is right now. few years ago the division was a joke, now its the best in the league.

Anyone see the wings vs blues game, wow, that was like a playoff game. I hope the refs do a better job tho, they let a lot slide IMO (on both sides).

Some of the shots tho, damn, the leet skeelz amaze me at times.
