Serious GI joe discussion

Postby Spazz » Wed Oct 19, 2011 2:16 pm

You know we spend to much time talking about angry subjects around here as of late so I thought perhaps those of us around 30 could talk about our favorite toys growing up. We never had air conditioning growing up so in the summer my mom would do a lot of minor shopping. I didnt mind getting dragged around to look at towels and candles and shit cuz if I was good ( and because my mom spoiled the shit out of me) I always got to get a new guy whenever we went somewhere with a toy section. Sometimes i see something that reminds me of all the fun I had and all my old faves. I had tons of guys but i really only got vehicles for christmas and bdays . i would use pop cans and legos jenga bloacks stuffed animas and blankets and anything I could to create epic battle fields. Any way to those of you who played with joes and have fond memories I would like to talk about fave vehicles and fave figures and maybe I can figure out how to post pictures

The rolling thunder was my fave vehicle I ever owned

I was always fascinated with bad guys so my favorites were Destro and Cobra Commander. In Transformers my favorite was Starscream. I had my GI Joes use my transformers as vehicles or theyd use my Deluxe Megazord.

See I was the opposite I always liked the good guys. The cobra vehicles were always cooler for the most part though.

Speaking on destro and cobra commander My mom made perfect and matching capes for each of those guys for me. She also made one for dr mindbender as well.

Damnit this is a thread about GI joe and there will be no hijacking. If you want to talk about transformers make your own thread :). GI Joes would have kicked the transformers ass.

I found a Sargent Slaughter GI Joe a couple of weeks ago in the building I'm working in... I put it to the side and it disappeared somewhere by the next day :(

nope they were really squat, like 1 inch tall. i'll figure this out if it doesn't ring any bells. can't remember anything but like a kangaroo in white armor and a rhino in turqoise armor. really small. hologram on the chest

also exo-squad toys were fucking awesome

Was a bit too old for GI Joe. I think I got a few things but was getting in to girls around that time. My little brother got He-Man, Transformers, etc. My era was Evel Knievel, Six Million Dollar Man, Micronauts and Star Wars.
