Garg, I'm hoping you've taken up cooking and not the shrooms of the magical variety...

Very uncool hate and nastiness there. Way to stay classy.

We found out last week it's a boy. She isn't too keen on the idea of naming him after my brother, but I'm going to keep trying.

I really like the names Alexander and Wyatt.

Alexander sounds gay. Wyatt is a cool name though.

...Graydon, Jaydon, Addison, Maddison, basically anything that ends in on should be avoided. If someone on this board named their child one of these names you’re a bad person.

i know someone who named her kid taelyr. worst name ever. i also know a baby named kale, like the plant. other ridiculous names i've come across: phoenix, blue, na'alii (although at least he's samoan), trice, esther, brayden.... i could go on and on. gross.

as for me, i will continue to make every effort to prevent this from happening (hello IUD, i heart you), BUT: if i were to accidentally reproduce, i have one good, solid, classic name picked out for each gender that i am confident will not result in any playground teasing.

on a related note, my mom told me a couple of years ago that when they named me leah, it didn't occur to them in the slightest that anyone would ever mispronounce it. :ugh: hahaha. i get "lee" and "leia" all the time, and also it lended itself wonderfully to playground names like leahtard. wheeeeeeee. (although, that said, i do really love my name.)

Leahtard...classic. Kids can be so creative.

I try to pick regular names that are bilingual and aren't too crazy. My children’s names are Vincent and Liliana. Even with Liliana we were like, is this too out there? My wife’s brother’s kids all have crazy names like Lukah and Safia and stuff like that. I'm like ok cool that's terrible.

Charles was on my short list, but my wife hated it. I like names that can be abbreviated.

I had a crazy neighbour called Audrey that hoarded bikes in her front lawn. I moved a few weeks ago and was there to witness the city come and clean out her place just before I left. She was not pleased.

My bro-in-law is Charles. He gets pissed off when people call him Chuck. lol. One of my fave boys names is Landen. It's very masculine, and not very common. My wife loves it too. IF she gets preggers again and we have a boy, we will name him Landen Wilhelm (Wilhelm being my dad's name).
