Ok, I'll let y'all know what I have in regards to disaster-preparedness when I get home. If you live in disaster-prone areas, be it earthquakes, floods, tornados, hurricanes, floods, droughts, dust bowls, fires, etc etc etc you should have at least some survival gear.

Going just by memory, we have: Water purification systems (Katadyne) and tablets, wind-proof/waterproof strike-anywhere matches, candles, lighters, magnesium fire-starters, flashlights, batteries, solar-powered hand crank radios, 35-mile range walkie talkies, canned foods, dehydrated foods, can openers, compasses, gps, water, water containers, gas cans, internal and extetnal frame backpacks, tents, sleeping bags, hammocks, geiger counter, snake bite kits, insect repellent, camp stoves, cookware, propane bottles for the camp stoves, plates, utensils, rope, knives, machetes, anti-bacterial soap, toilet paper, rags, survival books, playing cards and games, books, bibles, non gmo/non hybrid vegetable seeds, tool kits, shovels, fishing tackle, cookware, spices, instruction manual on how to gut and field dress a deer, guns, ammo, compound bows with a lot of arrows. Thats all I remember right niw, but there is more. Anyway, I think it's foolish to NOT have at least some survival gear if shit goes down. Heck, even power failure can wreak havoc on your family. Check out some off-grid survival sites. 2012 has very little to do with all this.
