No Diablo 3?

Although I must admit it was a big disappointment to me, the co-op is fun for a few weeks, especially on hardcore mode.

I'm looking forward to Neverwinter.

Dark Souls coming in a couple of weeks. Awesome co op. I imagine they'll make the multiplayer matchmaking much easier on the PC version.

Reviews of Dark Souls on the PC is pretty ghastly. It seems the port is terrible. It was an ok game on PS3 and not really traditional co-op.

I'm interested in Neverwinter:

Neverwinter nights games always manage to fuckup a very simple concept. I have played each more then they deserve and I'm never able to finish them. Player made content is equally disappointing.

"To be completely honest, we're having a tough time doing it due to our lack of experience and knowledge in terms of porting to PC. First we thought it would be a breeze, but it's turned out not to be the case. We're still developing right now - we're crunching right now," the developers told Eurogamer.

"In Japan there's not much of a PC market and we haven't really taken into consideration that audience before. That's one of the reasons why we haven't been able to step up on the PC platform until now."

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/vi ... lems-to-PC

"While the frame-rate's rough edges have been filed down," said Eurogamer, which has had access to a pre-release version, "you're still going to be playing at 30FPS out of the box." There doesn't appear to be an easy fix for that problem, but it gets worse. "On close inspection, it appears that Dark Souls PC uses the very same 1024x720 internal framebuffer as the console versions, regardless of which resolution has been set in the menus." There's no way to change that basic image quality, which means that "PC gamers will very much be getting the genuine console experience here, right down to the pixel."

The PC version is best described as a straight port, with minimal flexibility when it comes to visual customisation. Instead, you'll have to make do with tweaking resolution, refresh, anti-aliasing and motion blur options in the menu, as well as customisable keyboard and mouse commands.

Don't expect staggering performance either. While we sampled unfinished code, it was played mere weeks before release, and the core i7 Alienware laptops running the build occasionally struggled to maintain a consistent, smooth frame rate.

I read all that. Those aren't reviews. Sounds like a straight port of a game which I enjoyed immensely. It will be the same game with more content. WIN! I might wait for the console version but I'll probably end up buying both.

PC game running at 720P without optimizations? No thanks. It sounds like they should've ported it to the iPad instead.

Here's a new trailer for Neverwinter. Note, this is not NWN. This is a new game

If it's the same or slightly better frame rate wise than the console version with all the added content for $39, it's a steal.

i don't think lyion could handle dark souls anyway

one of the best games i've ever played. also the hardest. if it's a straight port then it's still going to look great. looks great on my huge HD TV. but it even struggles to play on xbox in certain areas. the game's too epic :)

by the way i started playing on xbox live toss, if you still fuck around w/ it. i'm only to sen's fortress tho, not really making much progress

Hahahah. You should give a shot at least. It's a very unique game that has a difficult learning curve and is unconvential in many ways. It's been nothing but rewarding and frustrating since i turned it on. An homage to the days when games pissed you off. Now all we got is this and Trials for a decent challenge

Best part is how they maintain an oldschool rpg feel. Tons of different classic enemy types and more weapons and armor and customization than most rpgs i can think of. All of its other unique gameplay mechanics make it feel really fresh while still covering all the old rpg tropes
