i daren't say this around most of my RL friends, but it only hurts NU in the long run to win a game like last night's vs Wisconsin

Honestly, I couldn't really care much less about college football at this point. The way they only pay lip-service to academics, plus the way that the UberFootball schools pay small schools huge $$$ to come play them just to lose 70-0 just disgusts me so much I can't care about it. They need to either just admit that it's a business and a minor league for the NFL and pay the athletes some appreciable percentage of what the schools actually make on them, or they need to put in things like minimum graduation rate and GPA levels to qualify for any bowl games or playoffs. (and have an independent agency that makes sure players aren't getting free A's in throwaway classes.)

Anyway, yeah, while the hypocrisy level of NCAA football is so large, I just can't watch it.

also my friend heather teaches spanish at UNL and taylor martinez is in her class and is apparently the most maddening student ever. doesn't try, doesn't pay attention, doesn't care. she's constantly pissed off and it's kind of entertaining but also understandably frustrating. bleh. she also says his head looks like a potato.
