free server

googled around and there are so many choices.
kind of want to dink around in wow but refuse to give blizzard my money.
any suggestions for a free server?
Classic would be prefered but i have everything up to burning crusade

Haha I know this is 6 months old now, but we're on the Feenix Archangel 2.4.3 private server. Almost everything is up and running, including Kara, SSC, Gruul's, Magtheridon, BM, OHF, and The Eye/Botanica/Mechanar, all heroics are open, and they are up to T5 armor and S2 pvp gear. They are currently working on scripting BT, Sunwell Plateau, and Hyjal. The in-game economy is great. My only gripe with this server is roughly about a third of the quests are broken. Leveling is fast, as it's 14x leveling. All the professions are working properly too. I mention all this because most private servers have tons of issues, crashes, broken quests/items, etc. The Feenix server is great in comparison. This is my 4th private server, and it's the best I've played on so far. The top-ranked private servers are Eternal WoW and Molten, but they require donations. Feenix is 100% free, and BC was my favorite expansion.

Tongan - 70 Holy priest
Vonkargh - ~63(?) warrior

Mainly play the shaman, he's basically BIS pre-raid, all PVP gear. The priest is something like 1900 BH and my warrior sucks ass.

we moved to dalaran-wow, which goes up through WOTLK. it's been really fun. josh doesn't really play anymore but i found a decent guild and have been having a good time. my toon is argrimmar, a lvl 80 rogue. first time playing anything other than a feral druid. :D

Is Dalaran-WoW better than Feenix, Leah?

I've heard some good things about others too, like Atlantiss. Thinking of playing one of these Emu Servers for kicks.

ya, dalaran-wow has pretty good support and is less buggy than feenix. you can also pay to insta-level your character to 70; they give you 900 gold + some gear to start off with and then you get to 80 on your own. i insta-leveled my druid but started at lvl 1 with my rogue since i didn't really know what i was doing. anyway there are some pretty good guilds and they're releasing TOC soon (if they haven't already). you should try it out! we're on the algalon server i believe.

Dalaran WoW is PVP only which might be a deal breaker for the wife. Looking into other options. Might still play since I have the client running, but it seems most private servers are using Patch 3.3.5a.

Anyone have any suggestions for PVE?

-edit- answered my own question. They do not have a MOP server, despite it being their download default for new players.

Yea, I wanted Cata at least, because I wanted to play a goblin. I think Atlantiss is but I'm not sure I'm going to play on a Private server. The idea interested me a bit to eat up a bit of time between school terms but classes start in August so meh. Maybe in November when I'll be done.
