Is it a no sub, but need to purchase the game deal?
I liked a lot about the original Planetside, except I didn't dig them following the EQ expansion model which ruined the game play experience.

Re: Planetside 2
From what has been said so far, it is aiming for a F2P model. Now whether it is the Guild Wars model, or completely F2P at launch I don't know that they have clarified that yet. The game has come a long way since I got in the beta in early August. Starting to see a lot more large scale battles. Balance issues still persist but they are moving in the right direction.

I downloaded and fired this up today. It was fun and similar to the original PS with some nice improvements. No charge to play, but a lot of perks for the payers. Seems a better model than other SOE freemium titles.

Yeah Connery server - TR side.
Re: Planetside 2
I played for about 2 hours launch day but the game kept kicking me out. I'll fire up a new TR there once things appear to be more stable.
