Bingo.
You know, it's hilarious...
The left call the right sheeple, the right call the left sheeple, everyone caught in between are called cowards and told to pick a side, and the mighty non-left/non-right that sit at the top of the food chain in this country that pull all the strings on the marionettes of this society look down from on high and laugh... at
everyone. We are all just numbers.
This argument can go on forever, because no one will back down, no one side will give an inch, and no one is willing to ever compromise on anything, and the people that actually control what happens ('cause it sure as hell isn't "We the People") perpetuate the animosity in such a way that we just keep on feeding it until it's ready to burst.
The most notorious leaders this world has ever seen have all known the same philosophy.
You keep them hungry.
You keep them sick.
You keep them weak.
You keep them uneducated.
You keep them in a position rendering them unable to fight back.
You give them false hope.
You keep them from uniting,
and keep giving them reasons to stay separated,
and when they have given in and have resigned themselves to apathy,
You win.
... and this is America.
The problem we face with firearms in this stupid country is that people are, invariably, morons.
As a whole, we are too stupid to be trusted with firearms, regardless of whatever regulations get passed and how many checks have to be cleared before you can own one.
I don't want armed guards in my kid's school because armed guards won't be trained officers in every school - they'll be glorified rent-a-cops with a chip on their shoulders. MY highschool had those, and guess what? They were assholes with egos as shiny as their fucking pistols.
Ganzo hit on something that I think is worth mentioning again here:
Ganzo wrote: I mean really I need to go through two different security verifications to pick up my kid from LifeTime Winter Camp or if she stays in kids room while i work out in my local gym, but in her school I can walk in any time and walk out with any kid without any verifications or checks.
You know why our schools have shit for security? Because they already don't give a damn about it
at all. If they did, schools in every city around the country wouldn't be fighting tooth and nail for funding, they wouldn't be going broke, teachers would get paid a real wage, and the fucking council members in charge of the administrations wouldn't be giving themselves fucking raises and pats on the back whenever a little extra cash is thrown their way.
They. Don't. Care.
Are any of you really comfortable with the idea that some hickified douchenozzle getting paid $9/hour is gonna be the guy walking around with a gun in your kid's school???
Unarmed guards with a checkpoint? That's fine. In fact, I am all for that. Install metal detectors at the entrance doors. They did that at my old school earlier this decade because the drug and gang problems got so bad there, and they haven't had a single weapon come through the doors since then. Why is that not an option being talked about?
