Businesses pay "off duty" cops for security. You're talking about a publicly funded thing. It's not the same.

Bam thirty round mags, omg! You can save half a second! Think of all the lives saved!

Sorry people, you need a new boogeyman. It doesn't work on the educated, only the woefully ignorant of the reality beyond what they're told.

It's easy to be voluntarily ignorant when you're in the middle of nowhere Nebraska.

I, in the real world, don't have that option.

A ban on high capacity magazines, handguards(lol seriously?), and other such nonsense requested by sheltered rich old people afraid of boogeymen and inanimate objects is worthless. There is no way to argue otherwise, because it's impossible to argue a fact.

If I want to kill dozens of people, a 10 round magazine isn't going to limit my spree in any way(as is demonstrated in that video), nor is lack of a bayonet, or lack of a handguard/rail system.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... _8fkyJC6mw

Lol more hypocrisy by that knuckledragging geriatric moron

Your entire desire is a pipe dream. Unrealistic, damaging to the country as a whole, and a knee-jerk response in the wrong direction.

Alcohol and tobacco is cool stuff though. Let's sell more of it! Let's kill millions more, *thumbs up*

come on dude, 12 pages and you have not figured out that I know absolutely nothing about firearms, the real world outside of my sheltered insulated sphere out in the abyss of Nebraska, or what effective gun control even is? I can't handle being so obviously uninformed.

Silly me, I thought you were educated and capable of rational thought. I was wrong.

Better inter-agency communication on previous drug abuse problems, mental health instability, violent crime offenses, etc.

That is one real step toward gun control. Your infantile raging in this thread and "ban high cap mags" argument has no foundation in reality, and it's been demonstrated more than once. I even put a video demonstrating the futility and hilarity of restricting magazine capacity thinking it makes the world safer for your fragile mind to grasp.

Forcing the populace to disarm, register their weapons (costing them hundreds!), stopping the sale and manufacture of "high capacity magazines" etc. are a fucking joke.

As per your, and Feinstein's hilariously pathetic lack of knowledge, this is now about to be illegal.

It has all of the defining characteristics of an "assault weapon".

No, but your brother sure does talk like one who has never touched one. (as do some others)

It's okay if you haven't, but don't talk about their effectiveness or anything of the sort if you haven't. It's just hilarious to those of us who don't think a gun is a shadowy figure in another world.

There's a reason soldiers don't put 100round drums on their M4 in the real world. Magazine capacity isn't the dangerous part. It's the psycho behind the weapon. The sooner people start to tackle the real problems behind murder, and not the tools used, the better.

Also:

The evil, evil AR-15 was not even used in the killings anyways. All of this outcry to ban rifles and it wasn't even what was used. Bleeeeeaaaaat on, sheeple.

I have a semi automatic handgun. It's a ridiculous thing to own. Anyone that says a handgun is a defensive weapon is full of shit. They are great offensive weapons. The gun is packed away, out of reach. For "defense", I have a big knife.

A handgun can be defensive if carried concealed. (and if you know how and when to use it)

A treadmill is an expensive coat hanger if it's covered with coats.

A gun in a box in your basement isn't for defense or offense. It's nothing.

A gun in a holster when you're about to be robbed, can be a life saver.

no shit, didn't you see the video i posted where the old man pulls his shit out and shoots the robbers out of the building? i seriously think the best answer to bad people with guns is good people with guns. i don't care how "wild west" it sounds, it's a proven fact. it happens a lot. there was a shooting two or three days after sandy hook somewhere in california that got 0 mainstream media attention. why? because when the shooter went into the movie theatre, there was an off-duty cop that pulled and shot him dead before he could hurt anyone

http://www.woai.com/news/local/story/De ... Xx2kQ.cspx

i posted this one page ago but, like 10sun said, everyone's just being crazy and not even paying attention to what anyone else is saying. just focusing on little points and arguing like a bunch of kids

If it doesn't suit their agenda, it gets ignored, and isn't put on mainstream media to boot.

A bunch of shit in my city alone has been prevented by concealed carry, store owners being armed, etc. does any of this even hit the TV? Of course not. It's buried somewhere on page 12 of the local newspaper. It doesn't suit mainstream media's agenda, so they don't air it.

Everytime I hear a redneck say "The Media" my soul dies a little bit. That video Harrison posted was pretty hilarious. The fact he thought it was some sort of revelation is very very sad. My son jumped on my lap while I was watching and I got a bit concerned because he likes guns (most kids do before they grow out of infantile obsessions...most).

harrison i am going to be as direct and non-inflammatory as i can at this point in hopes that you will stop fucking this dead horse:

  • you do not live in kosovo and i do not live on sesame street
  • most of the arguments you are raging against are arguments i have not made
  • most of the assumptions you have made of me have no basis in reality
  • most of your arguments are semantic in nature or are based on false and easily-destroyed premises
  • in light of the above, most of your posts have no relevance
  • there are three gun nuts who post here (i don't count mindia because he is not a real person) and i agree with the other two on about 90% of this topic
  • your self-righteous indignation does not help you make your case and when combined with fake internet swagger only makes you sound like a punk bitch

and finally

  • more gun control is coming, deal with it

I'd argue that those who have grown up in rural areas are more likely to be familiar with guns, gun rights, and gun safety than those who grew up in the suburbs.

I learned from my great grandfather how to shoot rifles to deal with vermin when I was 11 (a .17 for small shit and his 30-30 for groundhogs once I learned to aim well), my grandfather took me to the range for pistol practice a few years after that (.22 first couple of times before getting to use his .357), and in high school how to shoot skeet (20 gauge freshman year, 12 gauge sophomore and up).

Right now I have a Mossberg 500 Tactical Mariner and I'm looking at buying a Taurus Judge 3" in April.

In the past, I have had two other shotguns, a slew of rifles, a few pistols, and I kinda miss the rifles.

I bet you guys didn't know I love my guns, but I love people even more.

They're just inanimate objects! The fact that they are easily accessible has no bearing on how often they are used to kill.

brinstar wrote:on the one hand, i feel the country needs to come together and have a serious multipartisan discussion not about guns or gun control but about our society and culture of violence as well as our dismal lack of effective mental health policy and how all these ingredients come together to make some people very very sick in the head

but then on the other hand, motherfucker had an AR15. the FUCK does anyone need an AR15 for?

and PS, fuck off with that tired bullshit argument "HERF DERF WE KILL PEEPL WITH CARS TOO, BAN CARS" because it's a fucking question of DESIGN. cars are designed to move people and things around, knives are designed to turn one thing into two smaller things. yes, cars and knives can be used to kill people, but AR15s are specifically designed to put a lot of holes in a lot of humans in a very short time. if we can limit free speech and say "you can't yell FIRE in a theatre" we can sure as fuck limit gun ownership and say "you can't own a fucking AR15 you fucking psycho!" god damn i'm sick of dipshits oozing out that fucking argument, so to anyone who wants to shovel that pile of shit out: fuck you, fuck you in your stupid gun-porn-sore dickhole with a high velocity depleted uranium .50 round. in fact, please actually push the entire round inside your dickhole, then whack the primer with a hammer until it fires

while i'm at it, fuck the 2nd amendment. that shit was written so the people could stand up to a government that needs replacing. what a fucking joke that has become - our govt has unmanned drones that drop laser-guided bombs and ships that can chill fifty miles offshore and rain cruise missiles as far inland as fucking nashville. "boo hoo my rights" lol bitch please you don't even have the right of habeas corpus once the federal govt decides to call you a terror suspect

I'm re-posting this so people can see what I've been responding to. I'm not "raging against arguments he hasn't made".(like he just tried to say, lol) They're right there.

The absolute silliness of abolishing the second amendment is so strong, it's hard not to suspect an extra chromosome. It's that fucking absurd.

that shit was written so the people could stand up to a government that needs replacing. what a fucking joke that has become - our govt has unmanned drones that drop laser-guided bombs and ships that can chill fifty miles offshore and rain cruise missiles as far inland as fucking nashville.

I would expect such an argument from someone less intelligent, not you. But, there it is...

You honestly think there are enough people in our military that would fire on their own people? The military would assuredly dissolve to inoperable levels were there ever a popular uprising. There would be very little if any "laser-guided bombs" and other such nonsense being used, as it would require citizens to be firing on citizens. That wouldn't happen, and if it did, not for long at all. Shit would turn downright dark ages with guns very, very quickly.

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Now, don't get all butthurt when I tell you that disarming the general populace is the dumbest shit I've ever heard. I could go back further in history if necessary, to before firearms even, when peasant weren't allowed to own weapons of any sort. I'm sure they lived happy-go-lucky lives under the thumbs of their overlords, too.

people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million+
