I wont be very consistent. I have three young kids I get time where I can. I'll only be on after 8 EST and usually only for a few hours.

So, per a suggestion from a guildmate, I picked up a 64GB Agility 4 SSD drive at Microcenter today for about $75. I copied my VG directory to it and run it from there. Holy shit, what a difference. Not even a stutter anymore and I am able to play the game at 1080p with every single graphic setting cranked. The game looks great and runs silky smooth. When I "chunk" now, it takes about 2 seconds. Barely noticeable. A bit drastic, I know and a sign of some serious engine work needed but the bottleneck is definitely streaming graphics from the drive.

Since the only major advantage a SSD has in speed is in random seek, I wonder if the delay is when it hunts for graphics files throughout the hard drive. If so, I wonder if defragging before install, so as to have all of the files in as close to one big contiguous block and so removing most of the need to seek, would get you nearly as big a speed improvement.

It wouldn't. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt but it wouldn't be the same.

I've just created a Psionicist to go with my Rogue and Warrior: Names Keillie

I'll be off and on today.. Taking a break from reading as I've done 4 Wheel of Times books in the last two weeks.

I had Sunday mapped for a do nothing day, so naturally my inlaws showed up. Oi Vey.

I'm liking the Psi, I think I'll be messing around on it for a while.

My three toons are Hedley, Kyojitsu, and Keillie. Hit me up on IM if you're online any night, Toss. You also, Zan. I'll be glad to give you my AOL IM, as mine is generally up most nights.

I might be on tonight. Hard to say. I actually like the game, but I don't know if I want to go full bore into another game after the hours i put into EQ earlier this year. I just like to have something to goof around with.

Finally got to do some pretty serious dungeon crawling in some of the lower level dungeons last week. There are over 100 dungeons in this game across all level ranges. Khegor's End is great. Keeps a group of 6 upper teens on their toes, for sure.

How much EQ were you playing? We aren't exactly scheduling three mandatory raids a week here. I'll be playing around a few hours a week, and maybe hit an occasional dungeon. If I go through a stretch of playing more, cool.

It'd be great to get an occasional group together, especially from our old school crowd. I know little about Vanguard, but it seems decent and fairly old school. Toss, I sent you a PM with my IM info. I'll pass it on to you, also, if you want Zan.

I don't use IM really. I'm kind of a ludite about certain things. I played a lot of EQ. 5 nights a week easy at about 4+ hours a session. That last about 5 months. Crazy to think about it now. I slowly lvled Zanchief from 60 to 85ish and got him about 1200 AAs. Then I got a Bard to 75 in like 20 hours with the help of a Ranger. It was really sad. I'll just message you guys if I'm on. I might toy with another class type aside from Psi, but I don't really like the other options. Maybe Disc, but they seem too easy.

Post your names here.

I forget who I was playing vanguard with before, but we had a decent 3 man group for a bit.. game was still a bit too raw back then

First raid down tonight. Good times. Took down 3 targets and wiped on the 4th. They were going for 2 more when I logged.

I created a Shaman named Hazakiah, whom I'm playing around with now.

I'm getting random invites to guilds. What guild are you in Toss?

Also, just saw this:

http://forums.station.sony.com/vg/index ... orers.164/

I'm more interested in hitting dungeons than anything else.

I'm in Exitium. Nice folks. The core of the group are fairly raid oriented but there's a nice casual population too. Not too big, not too small. There's about 15-20 people on at a time generally.

Khegor's End is brilliant. HUGE dungeon. Would love to check out some of the others if we can organize a group.

How do I get a guild invite? Do they have many alts/lower levels?

Kaemon, you playing much? I'd like to start doing dungeons. I'm not really interested in crafting, just want to do some grouping and check out the dungeons. I think I'll be sticking to my Shaman for a while, but I'm cool to play either him or Hedley my warrior. I'm going to shelve the rogue. Stealth sucks and he just really is weak.

Fill out the guild app on the site. Say you're a friend of Klauze. Sithos has gone MIA. I know he was upset about the raiding hours being geared towards PST and he's on the East coast.

There are tons of alts and we've for sure got enough for a nearly full group. Another friend is playing a lvl 14 Pally. We could go check out Khegor's or one of the other dungeons.
