I'm enjoying P99 and it's like the original to me. Have you tried it out Drem? I've tried both and P99 is the better experience, in my opinion. Plus, no boxing which ruined EQ, and a real actual community. It's demented and sad, but it is a community.

If you're going to play purely casual and never get into any raids, want your epic, or anything...it's great. You will run into almost no problems.

If you ever want to do anything else? It's a disgusting cesspool of bribery, nepotism, and straight up illegitimacy.

350+ people caught using third-party software of various forms and not banned for it.

Entire guilds caught exploiting z-axis and pathing, zero bans.

Harrison, it's free entertainment. My Shaman is 37 and I'm enjoying the game. I have no doubt if I keep playing I'll get my Shaman epic but if they want to lockdown raids I completed 15 years ago over and over, I'm honestly not bothered.

I would like to do Velious again in a fresh way. The server is pretty cool and people by and large are friendly. There are quite a few merchant and RMT types, but I could care less. I do my thing and I'm having a good time, and it's free. Would love to play with some more people from NT. We have 4 there so far actively playing: Durothil (Paladin), Kahar (Bard), TIkker(rogue), and me (Shaman). Someone make a cleric and enchanter and we could do some mad dungeon eee xx ppp and farming.

My main goal is to get my Shaman to 60, then I'll make a melee or caster DPS class I think. I'm still unguilded, but by and large I've had no issues and the server is mostly pretty stout outside of the occasional hiccup.

The only way you're getting your epic is if you buy it from the RMT crew.

They permafarm the camps 24/7 to sell for PP to sell in RMT and they're protected by the GMs. You'll get the camp, they'll train you or KS, and then nothing will happen to them. It's happened more times than I can count.

That's why me and my RL friend crew stopped playing there. It's a shit hole if you want to do anything other than casual it up.

Yeah i have played it, Lyion. I tried a bard (think he's lvl 20) but mob runspeed is too fast and swarm kiting only works if you have good ping and do something incredibly risky

I really like the no boxing rule but don't enjoy it nearly as much as eqmac, which is truly a classic experience. Not a "sorta classic, for the most part" experience like p99. I like the choked view distance and the old graphics engine. P99 doesnt feel classic to me. I also really like having velious, luclin, and PoP

maybe if i hadn't played a bard i'd think differently. Does this work on mac? I dont have a windows pc hooked up at the moment

I had fired it up initially before Kunark launched. So I went and camped Ghoulbane, did some of the Ro armour quests, Shield of the Silent Watch. Far more gratifying, and left me a sense of accomplishment that every other MMO has lacked.

Gahhh you guys are torturing me. I only got this ipad right now so i cant play. I was playing with 3 former LoS people. Butnthey mostly faded, tho if you see a cleric named biggright, thats polyphemus. Nizzar plays on the P99 pvp server and everyone hates him, he runs the top guild who get every single raid spawn so the 100 people who play there hate him lol.

But yeah harrisons very biter. Shaman epic you can do without a raiding guild easy. You only need a group for the COM part.

All of that cheating and exploiting doesnt really go on much because theres only one guild comtesting for VP. Training is allowed on in vp and the top guild completely locks it down. All the outside program cheaters seem to be geting caught now. Once velious comes out other guilds will get more kunark bosses

Oasis, guk and unrest are the best spots to group in the teens. Join a leveling guild, or start your own groups in the difficult dungeons is the most fun in p99. I never did like a scryer, or warden camp in guk leveling up. Or unrest house group that was sustainable, but on p99 its so much fun

Ok I caved in too, made a dwarf cleric on P99 blue. I forgot just how fucking hard this game is comparable to all the modern games, took me a few hours just to get level 3. I kept on pulling level 1 skeletons and goblins not looking at my HP because I'm used to owning low level content in all other games, and than dying to them.

I made halfling cleric first and wanted to run him to Butcherblock to level but fell off the boat and drowned 2 feet from shore because I forgot how to swim up in this game , gave up and remade dwarf. Some druid gave me 15 plat and now i feel rich
