I searched pretty frequently for a day or two before I gave up.

Just hoping I can get one before Christmas at this point so I can see my daughter play mario for 5 mins before getting bored.

Heard one big issue with those is that the cord to the controllers is only 2.5 feet long

I still kind of want one of these too. Although I still own my NES and all my games.

me too. i have every game that comes on this. i don't wish i could plug my NES into an HDMI TV because i have it permanently set up in the man cave garage on an old tube TV

can you plug the original controllers into this new thing? i still have my turbo controller with the weird circle D-pad

i don't think so, looks like it has the same connector as the bottom of the wii/u controller, like where you plug in the nunchuk or the classic

Vene got me one :) stood in line with the oldest kiddo. It goes well with my original Nintendo :) and I'm a sucker for Mario.

Did you guys see the info on hacking this device to add like 90 games in total?

Neat trick, I pulled down all the code in case NES pushes some sort of cease and desist order

Read an article saying production was halting on these and the last ones would be on store shelves in April.

On the plus side, my boss is buying Raspberry Pi's for us to mess with so that will be project #1 just building one of these with a 3d printed case

So I didn't bother with the whole old style arcade but I did finish my Emulation Station kit with 40 retro consoles. :arms:

Supervision, Wanderswan (BW and color), intellivision, colecovision, LaserDisc (Daphne - dragons lair, space ace), all the neo geo, all Atari consoles, all Nintendo consoles (up to the Wii), all the sega consoles (Saturn, Dremcast, etc) all Sony consoles (up to PSP), Xbox, Xbox 360 (but no games yet for the xbox ), all MS Dos games (but only integrated about 3 dozen)

The whole thing is about 500GB, I need to upload a video or something to show it off :hiphop:

I've made as mobile as possible and created some really tight small arcade kit. I'll put some pictures up somewhere and try to show it off :p. Like I said, I was originally going to build an old school arcade enclosure but was like, WTF for, it would just sit in a corner and rot most of the time. So I shifted things up a bit and made 1 for the corner at the house, and 3 mobile kits. I also have made the install as easy and mobile as possible. You typically have to do some minor joystick check / remaps on 3 of the emulators but the others just carry over and work via a file copy.

I believe there's some money to be made there for you, although admittedly I don't know how copyright and stuff works with that.

Obviously an ENORMOUS market for stuff like this.

I have my scraping almost done (this is where it pulls down the box art, game ratings, player count, etc. It is taking FOREVER for this to finish.

Point is once this is done, I'd like to post up a video (I will host this) but I don't want to put it up for public consumption.

What part of this site is members only because when I don't log on, I can see everything I think. I thought there was a "members only" section . . .

They're re-releasing this next Summer apparently.

I got so annoyed with the way the first one was handled though, unless they allow pre-orders and just ship you one when they can I can't see getting one.

it just seems like such a dumb way to go about it. demand is staggering. nintendo could've made so much money. instead they leave it up to scalpers to make money off it, meanwhile all of us that really wanted one still don't have one. really mind boggling to me

i guess i'm ok because i still have my NES and SNES and most of those games but it woulda been cool to get it in a smaller package that has HDMI plugs. oh well

i did see that walmart (of all places) has put its foot down and are only allowing one SNES pre-order per customer

i'm sure a dedicated scalper will find a way around it but i'm happy with whatever measures make their shitty behavior harder

plus NOA have plainly stated that you shouldn't "have" to spend more than MSRP on a SNES, so it sounds like maybe they're finally taking the supply/demand problem seriously?

we will see i guess

a snes classic, that is

boy, it's pretty flawless. as in, once you fire up a game and get rolling it becomes extremely difficult to tell you're not playing an actual snes

- controllers are perfect
- sound is perfect
- graphics are perfect, warts and all
- there's even realistic processing speed slowdowns when too much is happening on the screen at one time
