Okay I just finished it.................and all I can say is WOW! The visuals near the end get completely insane. So does the difficulty. It's almost impossible near the last couple of stages in the game.

I remember beating Doom 1-2 on release and remembering how damn scared it made me despite the cheesy graphics (which were the shit back in the day), and once I got to the last stage of Doom 3, I had the same feeling once again. ID deserves mad props for what they have accomplished with this game.

I just beat it. It wasn't *too* difficult on veteran's mode.... but as I reached the last third of it, I could not play more than an hour at a time without going crazy. The last 2 hours of the game were scariest for me. It was definitely worth the $50.

Personally, I thought the game shifted more from fear to action oriented towards the end of the game.

Last boss was awsome, but the ending was a bit weak.
Vonk PM me so we can fix my damned sig again!

You guys beating this game in one night?

I can see maybe spending 50 bucks on a game like EQ... but if you're actually beating this game in one night - then I am thinking I will hold off till a friend buys it.

Took a lot longer than FarCry or Deus Ex. I still think it was worth the purchase in hindsight.

It was definitely worth it. There's about 20 hours of game play if you don't "rush" through it. And you'll reach some point where you can't play more than a couple hours a day or you just go nuts.
