Okay, I may be the only one here that is huge into gymnastics - but wow, that was one of the greatest moments in Olympic history. For those that didn't see it, he's the world champion, favorite for the gold medal, and competing in the men's individual all-around. He was in first place and falls INTO the judges on his vault landing which puts him in 12th place. He comes back with one of the best high bar routines I've ever seen to take the gold. That, plus the gold's in the men's AND women's swimming relays have made this one of the best Olympics in decades.

I love electrifying stories like that. Seems like the olympics always delivers some of them, and it's usually when I am not watching when it happens. =(

The best ones I can recently remember were in the last Winter Olympics. Sarah Hughes pulled one them off..made the whole thing spectacular to watch. Was really glad to see the Canadian pairs get the gold too. They were awesome.

We probably saw the same thing Azlana... right after the team competition, when he finished the team off with some outstanding performance... the reporter came up and asked him something about the secrets of the universe or whatever. When he opened his mouth, it seriously sounded like the fucking lollypop guild. Even Phelps' is more tolerable.

hahah yeah. That was it - he was congratulating China's team for winning the team comp.

As far as the guys go Ganzo..if I had to pick one for hotness factor it would be Ian Thorpe..but I'm actually more impressed with the women this year - Amanda Beard? - wow, she's beautiful, and a kick-ass swimmer.

It's the size 17 feet of Thorpe that interests you.

Actually, Natalie Coughlin is much hotter than Amanda Beard. And I agree on the "Lollypop Guild" reference to the Hahm Twins, hahaha. I was reading where the leading Romanian was pissed the Hahm got the scores he did, and was saying we were given the gold. Too bad he sucked yesterday.

Hahm's High Bar routine was amazing, especially his 3 release moves, back to back, all with different forms, and his dismount, which was fugging huge. How high he got in air and how far he went blew me away. Were they lenient with the scores? Doubtful, it looked like best High Bar routine of the night. Only time will tell.

I can't wait for Track & Field to start on Friday, that is where the Olympics just get downright OWN!

I agree... T&F is my favorite. The basketball games are great, but T&F is the only truly 'universal' sport. It doesn't take an IQ of 40 to understand the concepts of 'running fast'.

Azlana, potty mouth is so unbecoming. About as unbecoming as using a 9.9 scale instead of 10.0 on the parallel bars to gimp Yang Tae-young out of a gold medal.

You do realize that hardly any gymnastics are graded on a 10 point scale these days then? It has to do with the beginning difficulty of the routine and deductions are taken from there to leave them with the final score. Besides, while I did feel bad for the Korean who didn't win the gold medal - he was only there in the first place because the world champion and runner up made mistakes...not because he's consistently the best.

Out of all the sports I played, I enjoyed track the most.

300 hurdles, high jump, and 400 relay own.

I ran varsity track my freshman year and took the lead runners place in the 400 relay(pulled hamstring), I was a nerd.

I felt so good after creaming the other team at that meet, they looked at me and thought "that huge motherfucker couldnt run fast for a rack of ribs".

After I passed the baton and they were just getting to the previous turn, I fell to the ground and threw up all over the place.(off to the side of the track) Then laughed. as they just passed the batons.
How do you like this spoiler, motherfucker? -Lyion

I guess now they are saying that it was actually a technical error and that the Korean guy should have won - just barely but the judges made a miscall on his parallel bars routine, but since they don't change scores in anything except equestrian (I think), Hamm will keep the gold. Watch us go to war with Korea over a medal.

I did watch the Hamm thing. on tape delay or course. NBC is fuckng everyone over with no live coverage then replayin it later on.

hehe no azlana, thats why we are pullin our troops outta SK so we can let the North Koreans wage our war over the gold medal.

I jsut think the mistake is gonna taint his gold.

I of course loved the swimming, since i used to swim and stuff. NBC also screwed me on waterpolo. It was never on that i saw.

Coughlin is hot, so is Sandeno. And of course Courtney Kupets on the gymnastics team. Summer Sanders from back in the day was cute. I used to swim with her in practice. She used to be on the summer league team i was on, and she would come swim with everyone once a week back in the mid 90s.

Inga De Bruijn had the new and improved joker smile.... very unattractive.

I hope everyone got to see Phelps swim.

I believe we swept the medals in the 400m in mens today. might have been 200 i can't remember.

I hadn't heard anything about them pulling anyone out of Korea...so far as I know Kunsan and Osan are still up and operating and good to go - well as good to go as you can be considering you're only there as a speed bump if something actually does go down...but I still know lots of people there and no one has said anything about leaving. I'm not doubting you, just wondering where you heard that.

Sorta back on topic, how amazing was the crowd last night (Mon. 23rd)during the High Bar Finals? I have never in my life seen something like that where the crowed was basically so upset over the score they wouldn't let the competition continue until it was changed. When they finally did change it he was still in third place and Paul Hamm eleiminated him on the very next routine. But the score they gave him was also set him up to take another gigantic PR hit had the Italian not scored what he did.

All in all it was a pathetic night for all the judges in both the parallel bars and high bar, but the crowd was amazing.

1,2,3 sweep in Men's 400 was fun to see as well.

Alexei Nemov is a fucking badass - and that routine was awesome. I thought he deserved at the very least a 9.800 for difficulty alone. I was really impressed by the crowd, and it's too bad that he didn't move up a bit more in the rankings, although the 3 winners did have stellar performances.
Poor Paul Hamm, people get on his case like it's somehow his "fault" rather than the sub par judges we've seen at the games this year.
