Split from NBA talk.

Kurt Warner will start for the Giants but then he will have ONE bad game and the fans will whine. Cong Manning.

Philly will win the NFC East.

Kyle Boller already does suck.

Ray Lewis is immune to any jinxii because he made a dark pact with Satan in 1999. He's unstoppable.

Cowboys will finish 11-5 but will lose in the first round of the playoffs again.

No

Yes

I don't care about the Raider's QB situation... I think they will be the surprise success of the year.

Yes

I'm Texan! Basketball is my... like... erm... THIRD love. I just saw a preview for ANOTHER Texas high-school football movie... although this time they are using real teams, Permian and Dallas Carter. You used to live here so you know of their legacy. That might make it a good movie, for once.

With the new changes, there is not a chance the Patriots will make the post season.

The Bengals assraped the Pats first team D. Welcome to the new rules. Then again, I think Cinci will be a playoff team this year.

Their whole defense is based on the Cover 4 and mauling recievers downfield prior to the pass. Seeing how they're playing a LOT of good pass teams this year they're fodder.

I think Gibbs will have a tough time...

Why didn't Parcells go after Warner or Collins? Why in the world did he get Testeverde? Do they think Henson will be ready next year? Jerry is fucking with things again, I think...

DARC, Browns O looks good. Winslow is the real deal and Garcia will upgrade them.. The big question mark is the O Line, and the D line...

Can the Browns stop the run? I don't think they can.. And in a division with 3 power running teams, it will kill them.

that's twice asshole I almost choked on air.

So with the new rules they cant mess with the receivers before they go downfield off the line? (I might be interpreting this wrong)

No, it means if the Pats DBs manhandle the WRs 20 yards downfield, they'll actually get flagged. Ya know, the guys who were tackling Harrison 25 yards off the line of scrimmage and not getting flagged for it?

If the refs were calling things correctly, Indy would've beaten NE last year, IMO. This year, the Pats will have a good team, but those close games they won based on Cover 4 illegal chucks will not go their way.

Ahh, I thought you meant roughing them up off the line before they break downfield.

I always thought that should have been enforced anyhow. It was in highschool.

For some reason, the Pats got away with murder through out the playoffs.

They literally were tackling Harrison 20 yards downfield, and they bumped the Indy WRs nonstop.

This year I expect them to get lit up, or flagged a ton. Belichik will keep them competitive, but the nature of their super bowl win last year was based on their DBs mauling WRs and TEs 10+ yards downfield.

I was really hoping Cleveland would've traded for Adolph Oglewen or whatever his name was, the guy who Booker was traded for.. I don't see Cleveland being very good with their porous defense, especially against Baltimore and Cinci.

browns tackling sucks. it seems when they finally get the guy down, half the team is all over him like a swing party. it needs major improvement. (this doesnt apply to the red zone.) i guess we'll see how the rush defense stands up against baltimore opening day (i pee on art modell every day).

the offensive line does look iffy, but im sure they'll come to together a bit more before the seasons actually starts, after davis finally decides who he wants playing the line. with garcia rolling out of the pocket they dont have to be a brick wall every time, just plexiglass to give him enough time.

im actually happy with the browns offense this year. with winslow mixing things up and the running game actually present this year, hopefully phil dawson wont have the most points next to his name.

No

Warner till he makes 1 mistake

Who'll win the NFC East?
/shrug

Will Kyle Boller suck?
Yes

Will Ray Lewis get hit by the Madden Jinx?
Please, but make it career ending

Will Dallas suck?
Yes

Will Gibbs have a winning season..
Maybe, but unlikely because in order to do so he’ll have to ride Portis and I’m not sure he can last an entire season. D…A…V…I…S…ooops?

Will Tampa rebound?
No

Will Gannon or Collins start for the Raiders?
Gannon

Will Denver miss Portis?
I don’t think so, they have a good pair of backs. Using both of them, you don’t really lose anything between the two, will enable both of them to last longer into the season and take some pressure off the Snake. The Donkey's still suck though, make no mistake.

This is a football season I spend with a bag over my head. I'm a 49ers fan.

Somehow, we've gone from hall of fame QBs (Montana, Young) to Pretty good (Garcia), to Retarded Assclownage. Somehow we've gone from amazing receiver sets (Rice & well, anyone), to at least 1 awesome receiever, (Owens), to a maybe (Lloyd) and a guy who couldn't figure out how to call a time out. We've gone from Ronnie Lott or Hanks to the all-burned secondary.

We haven't had a kicker worth a damn in years, a punter in I dunno when. Our best linebacker is holding out for a Peyton Manning-like contract. (WTF? Sorry, "Quarterback of the Defense" is NOT a position, you're NOT as good as Rey Lewis, you're NOT getting that much money. Fuck off, Postons.)

We've gone from Bill Walsh (greatest genius in football, ever) to Seifert (Had best winning % ever, until he went to Carolina, who sucked before he got there), to Mariucci (Who was OK, I guess, but more concerned about looking good than winning), to someone who's never won a damn thing in the pros. WTF didn't they hire Dennis Green, who would at least have had some credibility? And why in HELL did they force Walsh out? He BUILT the franchise up from crap in the late 70s to the dominant force of the 80s, it was HIS drafts that gave them whatever talent they DO have now, and they force him out again. Fucking retarded.

This team is gonna be lucky to go 4-12. I can only hope that somehow, some way, we find a way to get rid of the current ownership group. They don't seem to be competant to operate a hot dog stand, much less a NFL team.

LT v. 2.0 is an amazing football player. putting up those numbers for that craptastic team is impressive. i'm wondering when marty will run that poor bastard into the ground with such a heavy load.

Lyion wrote:Bengals pwned the Pats.. The new bump rules will really hurt New England.. Will Dillon suck for the Pats?

the five yard chuck rule has always existed. it will be enforced this year. so sayeth the league talking heads. i'm skeptical. new england still has a lot of talent and depth. those guys seem to buy into the system. if dillon can just stfu then i think he will excel. his carries will be limited too w/ that diversified offense. boom or bust, perhaps.

Lyion wrote:Who will start for the Giants.. Manning or Warner?

Manning ... in week 8 when Warner goes through his inevitable jesus/injury phase.

Lyion wrote:Who'll win the NFC East?

philadelphia if their corners don't suck. the thing on espn about how the two new starters this year gush about vincent and taylor about made me sick to my stomach. corey simon is an underappreciated monster.

Lyion wrote:Will Kyle Boller suck?

yes.

Lyion wrote:Will Ray Lewis get hit by the Madden Jinx?

no.

and if you say he will, he'll stab your ass.

nota bene: lewis said on espn that he plays video games about seven hours a day in the offseason. /boggle

Lyion wrote:Will Dallas suck?

let's hope.

Lyion wrote:Will Gibbs have a winning season?

if you count 8-8 as winning. very soon, however, they will be back in the playoffs.

Lyion wrote:Will Tampa rebound?

no. i've never been sold on gruden. adding garner--the hardest working man in the nfl--will help.

Lyion wrote:Will Gannon or Collins start for the Raiders?

gannon. collins is/was/will always be marginal.

Lyion wrote:Will Denver miss Portis?

i'm going to go out on a limb and say no. i think shanafag is a cocksucker, but whatever is in the water in denver seems to churn out productive backs. maybe it's all that cut blocking their lineman do. bell really impresses me as he's in the the mold of portis and davis. griffin has done nothing but produce when he's been giving the chance. garrison hearst is old, but still a tough bastard. mike anderson apparently still may have something in the tank too. i think they will watch bailey kick ass every sunday and say clinton who?

of course, when was the last time a rb by comittee approach went well?

we'll see. i still think denver jizzed all over themselves when washington said yes, we'll trade you champ bailey.

There are two types of men who don't like Football.. Canadians and Homosexuals, and we generally lump both those groups together....

I'm really digging the fact I'm getting a pre season game a night on TV. They need to have more primetime NFL games on.. More goodness.
