questions

Post by valmoon »

1. LoS site down?
2. wow or eq2: which will be better?
3. eq still holding solid population or is it a ghostland?
4. any nameless guilds playing together in wow beta?
5. what nameless guilds will be playing wow once it goes live?
6. I had heard wow was more of a solo game. True?
7. I quit playing EQ during luclin expansion. How many more expansions have been released since?
8. Is Shadowbane the best current pvp mmorpg on the market? yes

figured I'd answer the last one myself. I try and visit the los site every few months and was suprised when nothing came up. I still see some familiar names: lyiion, mud, etc.

By the way does Tigole, Ariel, (los blizzard employee) ever post re: video game stuff like wow or eq2 or is that a no no? Curious if those peeps are still playing these games or if working on wow burned em out.

I just moved to Florida and have been without dsl for last few weeks and am in video game withdrawal. Hence my cruising former gaming havens and posting lots of ?'s.

thx in advance.

1. Don't know, don't care
2. WoW, fuck SOE
3. still popular
4. yes
5. no clue
6. Up until last patch yes, you can still solo but not as well
7. planes of power, lost dungeons of norrath, gates of discord and omens of war is coming out soon.
8. uh not by a long shot

far as i know they devote most of their time on WoW. Tigole can kiss my ass for now. All he did was bitch on the LoS site and now he's making the same mistakes in his dungeon designs that SOE did...what was the point.

Taxx I'm really curious about wow. What dont ya like about the current dungeons they have in place? (I havent played any wow beta)

I plan on taking break from SB when WoW comes out if I see some positive reviews from ppl who actually play these games.

Hey Val, nice to see ya

1. No clue, I figured LOS was not hosted at the old Sanctuary site, since their whole guild is now Sanct, minus Mud. :)

2. Totally depends on how good EQ2 is. WOW is essentially EQ done right. It is a very, very good game, but on the flip side it is not at all revolutionary.

3. SOE is still saying over 450k in pop. I'd guess most of the old school people you'd remember have long since quit. I quit before Luclin, so can't say.

4. Legacy, Fires, and several other uber ones have devs who have given them invites. There are quite a few guilds in there. Outside of Legacy, I have not seen other NT guilds.

5. I'd guess quite a few are. Personally, I'll be playing with about 10-20 friends. I prefer PVP, but not sure how many are interested.

6. WOW is solo friendly, and very easy to level. I expect that to probably change, and the last patch nuked much of the easy soloing levelling for several classes.

7. http://eqlive.station.sony.com/ Lists them. Omens of War will be the 8th expansion for EQ.

8. Lineage 2 completely owns Shadowbane in every way, but unfortunately is not an easy game to get involved in, and a very harsh world. It's also controlled by large, lifeless Asian Clans that put more time into gaming than LOS and FOH did put together in their heyday.

Remember when Tigole bitched non stop about how loot wasn't evenly distributed among classes? Well in his prized dungeon there are almost no leather drops. There's a bunch of locked doors for rogues to open but rogues have no reason to go there. I think the dungeons are well designed but the loot distribution sucks.

To be fair, it is in beta, and they haven't done heavy balancing. Heck, they just added the Hunter class.

1) The LoS site is not down.

LoS is mostly ran (so far as I can tell) by Snerito, Karmie, Nattil and Telegareth.

Old guilds were Sanctuary, none really, SoS, VG - doesn't seem Sanct dominated to me.

OT: My rogue got leather pants, nice ac, 35 agi, +1% chance to dodge... from that "leatherless" dungeon.

I was joking Mud.

In my brief time back, I've seen the main faces associated with LOS as Bzul, Berton, Snerito, and a few others who are oldtime Sanctuary people.

Anyways, checking the LOS site now, none of your active members, sans Snero and yourself, were around back in the day, so it's not worth arguing about.
