Kevin Garnett flips out?

Post by vonkaar »

from:

Pssst: At an informal workout the other day at Target Center, after Timberwolves rookie Rick Rickert made a nifty move to slip past his boyhood idol, Kevin Garnett of the Wolves, to score a basket, Garnett responded, without warning, by punching Rickert in the jaw.

A cut required seven stitches to close, and Rickert also suffered a chipped tooth. The astonished 6-10 Rickert didn't retaliate against the 7-foot NBA most valuable player, who also had unkind words for the former Gophers player. Apparently, the rookie wasn't supposed to score on the MVP. Rickert received his stitches at University of Minnesota Hospital.

Because the incident involved the Wolves' franchise player, the incident seemingly will make it even more difficult for Rickert to make the Wolves' final roster.

wtf???

Unfortunately the spoiled, assholishness of the NBA is apparent to everyone, and why the NBA falls further behind baseball and football, Vonk, despite having a great league and great fans.

The NBA is populated by me assholes...

You're talking about the NBA here - they outta change it to the NFA (National Felons Association), but that would be *racist*

Every time you turn around another NBA player is being charged with a drug, assault, weapons, or whatever crime. By and far more NBA players are charged with crimes than any other athletic franchise.

You have to wonder why... perhaps it's the attitudes of the players, who can't leave behind the ghetto style play. Let's be honest, as much people don't want to admit it - da thugs be in da house, and they aint leaving any time soon.

if you are calling blacks and whites and europeans and asians felons all together how in any way is that racist? Racism is singling out a single or a few minorities not calling every person on the planet it.. It's like saying human beings are a waste of space. It's not racist it's just stereotyping. Thx u come again

NBA is still a predominatly black league, and is not a good venue for sportsmanship at all.

The problem is simply the 'stars' of the league by and large promote a thug attitude.

The sad thing is Garnett was one of the few 'good' guys, and look at how be behaves...

Diekan isn't calling the euros or the whites thugs, just the blacks.

Yes this is yet another bad NBA story from a guy, like Kobe, who was thought of as a "good guy" of the NBA.

If you want to discuss the real reason there seem to be more criminals in the NBA fine, we can go that route, but I think Diekan is happier just to say "black people are criminals" while he praises a game as exciting as lawn bowling.

This story has now appeared in two papers... the first and now the Washington Post. I think it might be legit =/.

The Washington Post wrote:Rickert, 21, scored several times with the 6-foot-11 Garnett guarding him. Several other players began to "tease" Garnett about being outplayed, according to a source. When Rickert scored again, Garnett struck him without warning. "Rick was surprised that Garnett reacted in the way he did," said Rickert's agent, Mark Termini.

Garnett is just pissed he doesn't have what it takes to win a championship. :)

seriously, garnett is a good player, but he gets angry and some of the dumbest shit.

He reminds me of Romanoski except not as crazy.

The kid should press charges, once he makes the team :)

He wont make the team even if he's a good kid, but this story might get him a job elswhere, like the clippers or the bulls, that wouldn't mind this kind of press.

I hope something is done about this, and it isn't just left alone.

If the rookie didnt press charges, then nothing will be done. Heck, he probably lost his chance at the NBA just by scoring on Garnett. Pretty sad.
