That was the most obvious case I've seen in a long time for the 'boxing-is-rigged' theorists. Holy fucking hell... did anyone else watch it? Jones Jr was once called the greatest pound-for-pound boxer in the history of the sport. I loved watching him work... and the 'back then' aspect really wasn't that long ago. It's not like he's some washed up former champ trying to make a comeback... he's supposed to near the end of his fucking prime. He must have thrown less than 50 punches in the last 3 rounds, and... again... like the Tarver fight, he took one strong punch to the jaw and was OUT. Good God that was fucking frustrating. I'm glad I didn't bet on this fight because I surely would have lost my money.
He's through ... light-heavyweight / super-middleweight is completely open now. Probably as open as it's been in 20 years. What a waste.

jones should have never left the middleweights. look at hopkins--that 40-year-old stooge who jones slapped the shit out of a decade ago. now he is the top dog in the middleweight division. hopkins is a good fighter, but if jones wouldn't have jumped up in weight, he'd be selling insurance right now, not an undisputed champ.
jones should either retire or drop back down to the middleweight division.
