I've only had one friend leave eq for ff11 and not return. Seems like its just like all the other "eq-killers" fun at first but no endgame.

I really liked it but it got way too repetitive. There weren't enough "good" zones to hunt in. There wasn't enough variety of mobs. I really didn't like the fact that the Japanese had a year head start on us either.

ya it was fun for a while, but god i just can't deal with being a newb. hell i couldn't really start a new char on EQ and stick with it. i just don't see the logic in these mmo's consisting of bashing ten billion moss snakes untill your character isn't boring

though ffxi had some pretty cool differences, like being able to switch your class at will. and the whole subclass system was kinda neat

Yeah it was okay and we had some fun but killing the same thing over and over got really boring to say the least. Not to mention starting over for each subjob ugh -- starting over wouldn't have been such an issue except you had to back to the same three zones to hunt that you worked so hard to get out of.

Definitly not enough variety.

it was great in the beginning, but the end game is not so great. started doing the same repetitive stuff again and again.

I played it for a while, I keep paying for it because its far to complicated to stop. I really should find the 8 cd keys it requires to quit.

It was fun for the first month, then I realized I was playing with Zennish so I quit.

The whole sub quest is what made me quit.

Call your CC company and tell them not to pay whoever the charge goes too. They'll cancel the account by themselves.

That's what I'm waiting for as well...although it's gotten lukewarm reviews. They're saying it's unpolished, well thats exactly how BF1942 was at launch, so I still have some hope left.

Been slowly weening myself away from FFXI. It was interesting as a Red Mage, but it's impossible to find people who want to take the initaitive and challenge themselves. They'd rather suck on the teats of the high levels and have everything handed to them on a silver platter.

And the community sucks. All the message boards are full of drooling FFXI fanbois who wouldn't know what a good MMPOG was if it jumped out and grabbed them by the dick.

I've been perma-banned from FFXIOnline.com because all the drama queeens there can't take a flaming rofl

we had fun goofing around on the missions here and there
just all the zones are alike--eg the main mobs are wild rabbits, forest hares, dune hares, killer rabbits and so on, it gets old, same with the bears, fungus, everything is the same in it in almost all zones

taxx does you remember the chick we grouped with in valkurm for a long time that was a pretty kinky person, and i said the word fat and she got mad i think @@

It would have been much better if they let us start on our own server, instead they stuck us with High Level Asian people who did not want to talk to or help us at all. Very Unfair as far as MMOs go.

I haven't laughed out loud that much since I played EQ. FFXI was kickass fun due to all the boys being online. But as far as the game itself, it gets repetetive yes, and the beauty of it gets surpassed by the non-stop grinding and running across 5 zones to get to a camp.

No Gaazy, you da man. UT04 has suspended my interests in FFXI for the time being. Need time for my friends to catch up anyway.
