With a druid and shaman you can handle the heals just fine and the shaman can rezz the druid when he lets him die.

Probably do a Warrior and a Druid or Shaman, and no, none of my names will be MommyMooCow - it takes too long to type. ;)

Gnome warrior, and likely a priest of some lesser race.

I'll probably be a druid. Changing shape is neato, and the totems don't make me want to be a shaman.

I'm leaning towards mage or warlock.

I think once the game is set for release, warlocks will be the new cool class. Right now they're a great DPS class with there pet and have tons of practical spells for raids and groups and they're one of the best PVP classes.

Damn this sounds familiar...
I'll just put some cliches here and everyone will be happy.

Random song lyrics: "Look to the the stars, and let hope burn in your eyes. And we'll love, and we'll hope, and we'll die. All to no avail, all to no avail!"

Random quote from someone else on board: "I also...like...to play with faggots..." -- Taxx (fun with elipses)

Every character name I've ever played in a video game ever: Jack(uup)/Klatu/Silus/Dosi/Voeda/UnhappyFish

Thinking of trying Hunter..looks like closest class to Ranger that I can think of. Maybe druid, although I've never really liked primary spellcaster classes though.

Hopefully the Hunter talents get added before OB so I can at least have a look see, otherwise if Hunter isn't what I'm hoping then Druid or Warrior

meh

Druid isn't a primary spellcaster...they're a bit of everything.

I'll probably go with the class that lets me jump in swinging :2m16:

So, talking with some friends.... we're looking at the following:

Human Rogue
Gnome Warrior
Night Elf Priest
Human Mage

I've read the comments here - but the game has been patched, moved to ST2, and soon OB... is this STILL a good combination?

Also, does race make any difference? I've not dug down TOO hard - but I don't see anything saying that there are racial penalties/bonuses... am I missing the information somewhere?

Alliance tend to have more bnet kids and noobs...so you should fit right in. Then I can kill you on battlegrounds.

hunter hunter hunter :)

Sigh I might have to settle with being a moo cow hunter (you can not deny that female tauren look like farm cows) since I am not sure if I can stand being on alliance with noobville.

actually lyion, druids are near identical to priests as healers. the only two diffrences is the ress and shield.

the only downfall is if you have a druid in the group you need a paladin/shaman or warlock
warriors are basically irreplacable since paladins have no taunt.

THe paladin issue with taunt may be fixed in the upcoming patch, there's a post from a blizzard person in the paladin talent sneak peek thrtead that they're reworking taunt for the class, so that they can actually tank. (just not as good as a warrior)

According to Blizzard, they are looking into aggro management for Paladins. Whether they get it in by release is another question, so hopefully one can use a Druid/Pal combo versus solely using a Warrior/Priest.

Playing a 25 Druid and a 23 Priest, the priest seemed better suited for the support role with the tools they have, IMO. The Druid can certainly heal fine, but they give things up to do it.

Racial traits are not active as of yet, however Blizzard has mentioned patching them in fairly soon.
