But... I'm losing a center and gaining a guard... should I then bench Mobley (still a top ten guard) and pull Shawn Bradley off free agency?
Also, I live in Dallas and the Mavs are my favorite team... I should know about Finley's injuries better than most =p.
Aaaaand finally... a #4 center for a #9 guard isn't good math... especially when I'm fine on guards and would be hurting on centers if I made the trade.

Arlos, Eddie hasnt had a great pre season true....but it is preseason. He is going to see ALOT of playing time at the small forward position this year, and thats a position i think better suites him. Especially teamed up with shaq and Wade.
Let me know soon about the trade, looking at other options with other teams at the moment.

Why fight it, i am a Man Whore!
Shrug... every 6th man for the past few years has been considered a 'bust' for fantasy teams.
Dallas has a traffic jam at the 2/3 spot... Daniels, Howard, Finley, Stackhouse... all 'want' to start but the job is going to Daniels and Finley. I just traded to get Howard, because I think he'll EARN his starting spot... but Nellie has made it clear that Fin and Marquis are his go-to men for 2 & 3. He's also referred to Stack as his 6th, which is hardly a good thing for fantasy basketball. 6th man means low minutes... Add in the fact that Stack has missed most of the preseason because of his swollen knee... there's no way I'd give up Ilgauskas for Stack =p. Calling it 'bad gambling sense' would be a gross understatement.

I offered ya Finley for Ill
I think you've gone through several offers... I think the first one was Stack...
Honestly, Dirk and Daniels are the only two Mavs I trust at the moment... I'm taking a gamble on Howard and Harris in my newest trade... but... I mean...
The point situation is iffy. Harris or Terry. Will Terry even be here come December? Will we still look towards Kidd?
The 2 and 3 spots are iffy... Stack? Fin? Howard? Daniels?
The 4 spot is locked down... Dirk. The man. Henderson will play backup and he's looking very good in the preseason...
The 5 spot is locked down too, but Dampier is still too risky for my taste.
EVERY person on my team is a starter... you can't put up the needed numbers if you are coming off the bench. That's one of my most important strategy goals. If I don't think that a player will get more than 30 minutes a game, I'll trade them... even if they are a 'great' fantasy pick.

I still consider it a gamble. Also look at Hood and Sasser's performances in the preseason... and they aren't even making the team =p.
Nellie plays all his young guys in the preseason but they won't have so much playing time in the regular season.

Well... there are like... 19 people on a team that can't put more than 15 on the roster.
I think AJ's decision to retire was partially made to allow some of these guys to play. He's a nice guy like that =p.

So I picked my team for the next week and placed the players that were playing for each day. Is that how we are supposed to do it? I didnt think thats how it worked at 1st but if it does it means you dont have to be as strong in each position since you will rarely fill every slot and your bench players are just as important as your starters.
Anyone know for sure how this thing works?

Nononono...
All 10 spots on your roster are scoring positions. You need to fix that asap.
All 3 guards, 3 forwards, 2 centers and 2 utility players will combine for scoring. Your bench spots don't contribute at all.

Only as needed. Some people aren't as likely to follow the season like us... and may have an injured player on their roster for a while. You only need to adjust your roster if problems or improvements arise. Take my roster for example... let's say that Hinrich doesn't have the season that I'm hoping for... and Ridnour would be a better guard for me. Until I can make a trade that would benefit me, I want to move Ridnour off the bench. Or.. if Shaq breaks a leg, I don't want him sitting on a precious center spot... I want to trade or draft another center to stay there until he recovers.

I guess the question is, what if one of your players in your active 10 slots isn't playing that night, but one of your bench players' teams IS. Should you tweak your roster based on that kind of thing, to maximize scoring, or does it not matter?
Zan: Grant Hill's status is why it's a risk. Well, that and Jones having a really good year. Saw a article that said he should, but saw that he's sucked much this preseason. It also depends on you being right about Marshall not putting up his usual numbers. But, gotta take some risks, eh?
Now, if I can just find a good PF....
