If you died it wouldnt affect me, does that mean I shouldnt care? Then again fuck if half of Russia died it wouldnt affect me, unless I was in the market for a fur hat. How the hell can you judge based off appearance.

Tossica, your world is very narrow. You live in a box of frustration, sadness, anger, and bitterness. You have been misled. You need Jesus in your life. Even Jesus loves a pathetic shitbox like you. His arms are open. Go to Him.

Youth are impressionable. You take a smacktard like MM who makes it big in the music world, and kids look up to him. Why do you think so many kids dress the way do? They are trying to emulate their latest MTV gods. Marilyn Manson is a freak and a shithead. Fuck he. I care more about a Russian 12,000 miles away from me than Marilyn Smacktard.

If you answer "No" to the first question, then you are undoubtedly the stupidest person to have ever roamed the planet... you and any other moron that would answer "No" to that.

i didn't read any of the thread after this post, but in response to your loaded question, i'd like to know how you'd answer the following loaded questions.

would you rather your kid came home from school with:

  • the torah, or the koran?
  • the koran, or piercings/dyed hair/potbreath?
  • a swastika t-shirt, or track-marks in his/her arms?
  • the satanic bible, or a book about wicca?
  • a violin and rehearsal book, or a B.C. Rich Warlock and tabs to Iron Maiden?
  • a stab wound and an empty wallet, or a homosexual partner?
  • an expulsion notice, or the Book of Mormon?

HAHAHAHA all those things go hand-in-hand with the body piercings, purple hair, and breath reeking of marijuana. Keep trying though.

please rephrase your response, it sounds as though you believe muslims, jews, nazis, violinists, guitarists, and high school dropouts all get piercings, dye their hair, and smoke marijuana. put on the "mature" hat for a while, ok?

my point was that if you give people the option of their child coming home with a bible or coming home with bloodshot eyes, the munchies, green hair, and metal in their face-- of COURSE they're going to pick the bible. however, there are LOTS of other wonderful things their kids could come home from school with, eyes a-twinkle-- for example, a deep appreciation for oil-painting or a desire to attempt to correct social injustices.

You'd love my church. Full band on the stage playing Christian songs in an alternative-rock type genre.

I think you tried to throw something in my face and it failed Mindia. I could just as easily call you a bigot due to the amount of religious zeal you show, but I know that would be unfair just as you calling me a racist was. :)

Now, I have ear piercings and a belly button peircing, when money allows I will be peircing my tounge. I got my boyfriend an eyebrow piercing for his birthday years ago and I still think it looks amazingly sexy on him. I have had the tattoos that I want to get planned out for years, I just have not had the funds available yet. I look at both of the above as forms of art and adornment, as they have been viewed by many different cultures for many years. (To answer your question from before).

Now no more question dodging, tell me who I am please. I want to hear your theory. I don't say this to be an asshole, I am just wondering how you will profile me and how far from accurate it is.

And I agree with you Alex. I was just being a bit abrasive, directing it at ignorant fucksticks like DangerPaul and Taxx.

You are taking what was fashionable, to an extreme, unhealthy, and rebellious level. What's the attraction to body mutilation? And why are so many people getting their tattoos surgically removed in their later years, only to be left scarred for their remainding years? What's with the tongue, cheek, and eyebrow piercings? It's absurd. You are an "attention whore." You want people to look at you. You are pathetic. Sorry to bring that to your attention. You have no, or very little self-esteem. Deny it all you want, but I have just figured you out completely.

they're not exactly running money-changing tables inside the temple of god, mindia

i don't see why you're upset enough to be abrasive to anyone

remember long ago when i made that analogy about the candle vs. the flashlight? the candle has a steady omnidirectional glow and warmth that is peaceful and attracts the curious. the flashlight has a cold, invasive light-- and while it might do a better job piercing darkness in front of it, the darkness behind it is thicker tenfold. which do you think jesus is, the candle or the flashlight? which do you think you should strive to be?

in the niches of a lamp,
through which the One Light shines.
“I” and “you” are the veil
between heaven and earth;
lift this veil and you will see
no longer the bonds of sects and creeds.
When “I” and “you” do not exist,
what is mosque, what is synagogue?
what is the Temple of Fire?

I have not brought it to an extreme unhealthy or rebelious level. I have one "body piercing" my boyfriend has one "body piercing", other cultures that revered and found such things attractive had far more than one or two peircings. Obviously you do not understand the historical context of tattoos or peircings. My belly piercing is only seen by my boyfriend seeing as all the shirts I wear cover my stomache. People I have known for years never knew I had a belly button peircing. The only people I have shown are those who have spoken of peircings first, and shown interest in wanting them.

As for tattoos, the tatoo I want to get is a cultural tattoo. I am czech and proud of my roots. This tattoo will be small, discrete, and placed where the only people who will see it are those who I choose to show. The tattoo will be for me and not for others.

Now that we have established I am not an attention whore, lets move on.

Self esteem: I am not egotistical by any limits, I find myself to be a reasonably pretty female, and am proud of my accomplishments.

After reading all the half-assed answers and inane generalizations I've come to the conclusion that Mindia is just trying to push y'alls buttons and succeeding admirably.
Inside each person lives two wolves. One is loyal, kind, respectful, humble and open to the mystery of life. The other is greedy, jealous, hateful, afraid and blind to the wonders of life. They are in battle for your spirit. The one who wins is the one you feed.

I guess I didnt make my point clear; I want more then dress code. Your father can influence the way you dress, someone you see on the streets, your girlfriend. You cant justify that dressing in one particular way is greater then another.

I am

- a woman
- a college student with a 3.84 GPA
- a reciever of a $40,000 scholarship based on academic merit
- a poet
- a lover
- a working class individual
- baptized
- curious about religion
- a child who grew up in church
- the former step-grand child of a minister
- a non-smoker
- a non-drug user
- an occasional drinker, but never one to over do it
- someone who gave up her own childhood to help raise her half brother, so he could have it better than I did at his age
-beautiful in my own right
-am someone who has only had sex with one person in my life, and am still with that person. I reject the stereotypes of my generation.

..but since I have a body piercing I must be horrible.

Mindia anyone that has studied the bible as much as you can't honestly believe the stuff you are spewing. It's all flawed spiritually and logically. It was a good run tho.

oh and btw

The history of body art is nothing about being "kewl" I became interested in body art long before it was the cool thing to do. To most cultures, it is the same as putting on a ring or makeup. It is a form of adornment.
