Its a new game, Ralf. Opinions are subjective. If it interests you play it.

I think its a very good game, personally. Some like it, some don't. Same with WOW.

when i first logged into eq2, when you board the ship, i thought it was a beginning movie i had to sit through. then i accidently hit the arrow key and moved, and creamed myself.

just a little tid bit on the gfx. you'd have to see it i guess

EQ 2 makes my computer sad in pants....

I have to build a new one if I want to play this game and be able to move in the city.

WoW is a way different game than EQ, imo the people that are trying to compare the two are missing what WoW is all about

imagine you're a donkey on a treadmill and there's one huge carrot tied to a string in front of you; that's EQ

now imagine you're in a field and there's a bunch of smaller carrots all over the place, and when you collect enough of them, it turns out that your carrots together are equal in size to that huge one on the treadmill, that's WoW

so yeah, i really like WoW, a lot more than EQ1

i haven't tried EQ2 so i couldn't tell you what it's like

EQ2 is vastly different than EQ1.

Honestly, if you can afford it, buy them both and try them. They are different games and will appeal in different ways and on different levels.

My feel is that SoE hit a homerun with EQ2. They took all the best parts of Horizons, DAoC and EQ (comparing them to games I have knowledge of) and merged them in a logical and fun fashion.

WoW is fun in a different fashion that just didn't grab hold of me in the same way as EQ2. Again that's just me and the way I play tho.

Addendum for Taxx: And I haven't even messed with tradeskills in EQ2.
Inside each person lives two wolves. One is loyal, kind, respectful, humble and open to the mystery of life. The other is greedy, jealous, hateful, afraid and blind to the wonders of life. They are in battle for your spirit. The one who wins is the one you feed.

I found EQ2 pretty lacking in all areas. All the fun little utility spells were gone, the isle of gay at the beginning felt too constricting and I was happy to get the hell off it. The instancing of everything was way overdone and pulled you out. It just felt like EQ light or something. Freeport was empty as hell, all these huge buildings that you can rent and like 5 NPCs.. After being level 12 and only having around 8 or so spells .. it was just a bit depressing. By level 8 in EQ I had nearly 30 spells to play around with. And the way the classes "split" didn't feel very satisfying, everyone still felt the same as everyone else. I guess I just prefer class based games from the getgo. It also ran like shit whenever more than 10 people got on the screen, that didn't help.

Eq2 rules Eq1 and any other MMORG out there right now hands down.

I have not had one glitch, problem so far. The gfx, combat, quests, everything is tits.
