They could put an entire onion on my plate and I'd eat it. Onions and garlic rule.

What's the point of the onion at that point? Why not just fry breading and dip it in ketchup, skip the onion all together.

I will only eat an onion from Outback or Chilis...cut into a pretty shape and fried to hell. But even then, I only really pick at the breading.
I'm some kind of mutant freak in that I lack a certain part of my sense of taste, so to make up for it, my brain decided to heighten my smell and touch. Onions smell horrible.
Which is odd, because I lurve garlic.

it's more a consistency issue than a flavor issue - i don't mind onion flavor at all, i like it... just not in it's raw form, and i don't like the texture of it in any form, which the deep frying takes away

Ask yourself what sort of mutant spawn of satan type of onion that is that forms a 5 lb onion flower on your table in front of you...

That alone is unhealthy.

Personally, I have a pathalogical fear/hatred/disgust of onions stemming from the worst moment in my childhood.

I was maybe two years old, hanging out on the counter while my parents were putting away the groceries. I was probably either trying to show off or maybe I was just plain hungry & I grabbed a round thing from the bowl on the counter near where my father had always produced apples. Not knowing the difference, I decided to take the BIGGEST bite I could muster.

It was a red onion. Since then I have never been able to tolerate them. Even foods with similar textures freak me out, like diced celery...

I love garlic though.

I like grilling a bulb of garlic then popping them out and schmearing it on bread. Good stuff.

I'll totally admit the only way I will touch an onion is if it has been deep fried to hell. But those...um...Vsomething onions...they are pretty big. I also dont think it's quite 5lbs :) Maybe my Outback is cheating me out of a couple lbs.

Its just a wild onion thing that you can find growin out in the woods :dunno: They stink to high hell. If you eat them raw it makes your breath 10 times worse than a normal onion heh. You can smell them just walkin around if you pay attention.

Actually that doesn't sound too bad... so long as you remove the onions before serving the trout.

I don't mind the smell / taste, I just can't stand the texture?

Quiznos is very delicious, but very over priced.

I'm allergic to raw onions but I can eat them cooked. How does that make sense?
