I've posted this before, but it seems appropriate, so I'll post it again.
Note that that final line, "Illegal", is every single illegal drug COMBINED.

Extacy was fun the 3 out of the 4 times I did it, but I think it was one of the stupidest things I have ever done... That shit literally cooks you while you are on it. Never again.

Ecstasy can be fun, it's true. The jury is out on long term harm, however. For very study you can find that says it does, you can usually find another that says it does not. I just know what it does to me in the short term; it kicks my ass something fierce the next day, and almost as bad the day after. The younger you are the faster you throw off the after effects, though. Just getting like 3-4 years older from the first time I tried it to one of the later times I did made a big difference in how fast I recovered.

LSD really isnt stored in the spine? Damn, i always thought it was, just stuff id heard tho, no actual research.
And I know many people from high school that are burnouts from all that shit

MDMA is a methamphetamine. There's no fucking way that shit has no long term effects on your body. They add something else to the chemical and your high is different, but it still eats your body like methamphetamine.
You know, it's really funny. When we talk about drugs being dangerous, all of you people that argue for them being totally a-okay just say it because nobody dies from the shit you do. I'm talking about becoming a shell of yourself. I've met maybe two or three people that have done big amounts of drugs that I still consider normal people. Like a person I'd refer to a job or introduce to my parents. And I'm not talking about stupid little amounts like buying a half 1/8 of shrooms once every 5 months.
It's not a personal bias, it's a pretty reasonable judgement. Yeah some people get out all right. I feel I'm not too far gone after doing cocaine for two years compared to a lot of other people I know or hear about, but I think it's 110% stubborn to say that taking some chemical made in someone's lab, or especially buying shit off the streets which is usually only 25-60% of the drug you think it is, is healthy. And I don't care about death charts. I posted the same exact type of shit a couple of years ago before I got wise about it. When you get hooked, you won't come out the same person you started as. That's the part that turns me off from drugs now... the "what you will become" part. But if you think it's enhancing your life to poison yourself into seeing forest dragons.... have fun.

So you have an issue with one drug and are perfectly fine with your choice of stupidity? Is that essentially what you are saying?

Drem, again, you're talking about the difference between use and abuse. People who use and don't let drugs run their lives are generally fine, A-OK, etc. People who let the drug take over and shift over into abuse of the drug(s) are the ones who come out screwed up.
My best friend has done more different drugs and more often than I have. He makes > 100k a year, and is the tech guy his company sends out with the sales team when they're trying to land million dollar sales. He owns his own house, and can afford to go on vacations around the world every year, plus several weekends of skiing or snowboarding every winter.
Another good friend with even more drug use in his past is a part-time DJ, but his main job is as a Perl/Python tools programmer at Google; he writes all of the back end server-support tools that the entire company uses when they install or maintain servers in all of their data centers.
I know a lot of other people in the same kind of situation: successful professionals, but who like doing various drugs as part of recreational pastimes. They just know what is and isn't appropriate for when they're working, and wouldn't get high before work any more than they'd get drunk. Plus, they all believe in responsible drug USE, and don't slip into ABUSE.

Just because someone is a "succesful professional" doesn't make them immune to the effects. Wait till your buddy has a bad trip and fucks up someone or his own life. But hey he's a responsible citizen.
It can and will happen to anyone regardless of color, creed or standing if given time.

I think most drugs are pretty fucking bad for you, but I think they should all be legalized. It will help cleanse the world of the stupid and weak.

Um, what? I'm citing a personal example. I could go on and on about people fucked up from hallucinogens, stimulants, downers, prescriptions, or whatever. Even weed.
I just think it's the most stubborn thing ever when people say "Yeah I can do that once and be okay and never do it again" because 99% of the time they do do it again. And then again, and they keep thinking "oh no big deal" until it turns into a few times a week, then every day. This happens to 80% of drug users. I don't care about people that did drugs and have good jobs. That happens all the time. I don't care about your personal success stories because there are stories like that about everything that's deemed bad. How many people do you know drive drunk often and say it's no big deal? Dumbshits. The luck doesn't outweigh the average, sorry. I used to think like you guys, use vs. abuse, I posted all those charts too, said the same things Arlos is saying while I was railing a ball up my nose every weekend, blah blah I'm invincible blah blah. But the truth is you're not.

how did you go from
"drugs = life 2.0
most people just don't have the necessary hardware requirements"
to
"drugs are bad m'kay"
?

I have to say I have never done any hallacinogens besides the laced joint, been interested only in possibly trying mushrooms, too wary of the possible effects of all the other ones. Also, I was pleanty unhappy when I learned that the guy laced the joint and did not tell me, I think that is fucking irresponsible bullshit.

So you had a problem and now everyone else is incapable of using them now and again without a problem? *blink* *blink*

They should legalize, regulate and tax drugs...Anyone caught making bathtub bullshit should get nailed by the law.
It would solve a lot of problems.

Yeah Finawin I said everyone else. No one in the entire world can ever use drugs without having problems becuase of my bad experience. Shut the fuck up or key into what the conversation is actually about. Don't take something I said and misconstrue it, you little faggot. Do you just post for the sake of posting? You always sound like that little kid in the back of the class in preschool that repeats jokes he heard somewhere else because he thinks it'll make him funny and everyone will like him. "HUHUH I MADE FUN OF AMERICA AND SAID BACKASSWARDS INSTEAD OF ASS-BACKWARDS. I"M FUCKING THE SUMMIT OF HILARITY"
Anyway I already said everything I have to say about this... I'm done with my drug experimenting phase and you people arguing for them sound exactly like I did. You can probably find the old threads I posted in about it. It's not just that I had a bad experience... it's the whole package. Dealing with shady people, weird hang out spots, rooftops, cops and all that shit... it's stupid and I wouldn't wish it on anyone, so I feel it's better to talk about how negative it is despite how positive you feel during it all. Sorry if that's some huge problem, Finawin. I figure you'd be one of the people that see the same way since you were addicted to Amphetamines and, whether you realise or not, have completely changed your attitude and demeanor since you stopped being high and awake 24/7.
Now you just need to stop acting high and mighty, because you're a bumfuck 21 year old kid, like me, that doesn't know shit about life. I know it's pretty stupid but if you listen to the older people that post here in this forum, they're not delirious and crazy, they're just wiser than us young adults... I always thought that was bullshit, but now I'm starting to realise that respecting your elders is a pretty good thing to do. And I don't care about how much credibility I probably just lost by saying that. Everyone that rolls their eyes when people say shit like that will get it eventually.
I'm ghost from this thread.

well that explains it then, just like it took a heart malfunction for me to finally walk away from cigarettes
nonetheless i understand what harrison is saying here, and as someone who has worked with a lot of addicts in a criminal justice setting, i will tell you that it's often the case that the more "hardcore" the addict was when they were using, the more outspoken they are against drugs when they've been successfully rehabilitated. that in and of itself is not wrong IMHO, it's all in how you take it. you could either take on the mindset of "why should i listen to that guy tell me how bad drugs are, he wasted ten years of his life and threw away his family and friends because he couldn't get enough meth" -or- "wow this guy has been at rock bottom, he would know more than anyone the dangers of recreational drug use" -- it's all a matter of perspective, and i can understand both sides. i usually choose neither, or at least somewhere in between. preachy or not, i'm just glad to see someone finally getting their life straightened out.

Whoa, calm down there bud...
I was never addicted to Adderall Drem, I was with a lot of people who were though.
I've seen what they do when they couldn't get it. I never really cared one way or the other.
I would do it one week, and not the next (most of the time, obviously there were exceptions). Purposefully...because I saw what it did to people.
The closest thing to an addiction I had was alcohol. I drank everyday or close to it for awhile a few months ago. I was majorly depressed and damned near suicidal. I'm infinitely better now, but I was a wreck then for sure.

P.S. If you try Mescaline some of the side effects are.
-Feeling of dying or annihilation
-Fear of not being able to return to normal consciousness
-Hallucinogen persisting perception disorder (HPPD)
-Irrationality of the thought-process
The first two of these did not happen to me. I did hallucinate, but I was always able to return to consciousness. In fact, for a certain amount of time, unknown to me, I was a horse, haha. I saw people as animals, my boyfriend appeared to me as a cat once. It was hysterical though, and I was able to snap out for long enough to appreciate what was going on. I'd just sip my beer and smoke another cigarette. I went through about four days of this cycle: extreme laughter, horniness, let's walk and look at stuff to...let's fuck again. the four day cycle lasted about ten hours...but that's what was so fun. felt more like four days. I could tell more, but you guys want to post about the harmful things. Anything in descretion is fun-I made sure what I took was straight.
oh and thanks triel =)
