it isn't like people who find/fall in love with people they meet online are looking for it there. shit happens, you can get to know people just as well if not better through straight up communication as long as there's a basis of sincerity. once that situation becomes face to face and you can determine if the personality is sincere or a fake there's no longer any grounds for saying that it's soley an internet relationship, because it no longer is

I met my girl through Yahoo. We emailed back and forth for about a week and then met at her place. We hit it off.

That being said, I think getting emotionally attached or falling in "love" with someone online without ever meeting them in person is foolish and unrealistic. If you think you love someone that you are chatting with online yet have never met, you need to rethink your situation and snap back to reality. If you are making long term, life changing decisions based on said "love", you are really setting yourself up for some shit.
