Diekan wrote:When you have problems, you may ask your friends to pray for you. But why restrict yourself to present-day friends? Why not also ask radiant Christians from previous centuries to offer up their intercessions on your behalf? This is perhaps the most positive way to think of praying to the saints. Yet there is a problem here. Asking Saint Joan to pray for you becomes praying to Saint Joan. But praying is an act of worship and devotion, and this can be offered only to God.
Ohhhh... almost forgot....

... You can't even manage to flop your dog ears on a computer keyboard successfully.
How the fuck do you live with the totality of failure that is your life?

I'm not catholic, but I think it's a bit disgraceful to throw pictures of a dead man laid out on a table all over the place.. isn't there a better way to pay respect? I don't know why it gets under my skin so badly, but ugh. Parading a corpse just doesn't seem to be the best way to honor someone.

I don't know if it's honoring him... it's more for the living, giving them a chance to say goodbye.

I agree. Unfortunately, this is the same part of the world that will pull out an ages old mummified person they believe to be a saint and parade them around.
To me, that lack of respect. To them it's honoring them.

So we should not judge what they deem to be honourable, because we are far from the authorities on the subject and who the heck are we to tell them what needs to change in their cultures anyways, right?

who the fuck spells honorable with a 'u' in it from the U.S.?

by Spacewoman Spiff
Obviously I do. Shut the hell up, Lumpy, it's a correct spelling.
And who says I'm originally from the U.S?

Can anyone tell me the religious benefit of having a guy wear a feather hat and makeup beside the pope? I swear I'm getting less Catholic by the day.

hmmm I think when I get home I will join this boob typing game.... I don't dare try it in the middle of class, I got odd enough looks when I was participating in the elbow typing thread.
