Hey folks,
Here is some expanded information on the Gates re-tune happening next week. The list shows the proposed change and below it, the reason we are planning to make the change.
Zone experience modifiers were increased in all zones from Tipt/Vxed and beyond.
- To make it more appropriate and rewarding for the intended player level ranges.
Natimbi, Qinimi, Barindu, Riwwi, and Ferubi should be tuned more appropriately for their intended level ranges.
- To make the zones more appropriate and rewarding for their intended level ranges.
NPCs will no longer hit for max damage as often. Knights in particular should find it easier to tank mobs they previously had difficulty with.
- Grouping restraints were too tight. This caused groups to require a warrior/riposte tank with multiple healers.
Ikkinz -- Guilds no longer have to flag every member of their guild in order to complete Ikkinz. Only one person needs to complete all events/raids to start Ikkinz 7. At that point, all players who complete Ikkinz 7 will get full credit for the zone.
- Based on customer feedback.
NPC innates have been adjusted to behave a little more reasonably.
- Based on customer feedback and designer logic. The innates that were placed on the NPCs were inappropriate and were making encounters too difficult.
Zone travel has been made easier. Animal aggression was lowered (faction placed to dubious) and See Invis percentages were reduced on several NPCs.
- Based on customer feedback. Players needed invisibility all the time and were getting swarmed by NPCs. These changes will help reduce these issues.
Spell drops have been increased.
- Based on customer feedback.
Increase the rate of cash drops
- Based upon customer feedback

Inside each person lives two wolves. One is loyal, kind, respectful, humble and open to the mystery of life. The other is greedy, jealous, hateful, afraid and blind to the wonders of life. They are in battle for your spirit. The one who wins is the one you feed.
it will help yeah. As rynin says some of the damage has already been done-- close to 50% by my estimate of the high end player base is gone.
But for those still here and with some determination to make this expansion worth our money, these changes along with those to uqua will make GoD much more enjoyable, hopefully allowing people with enough skill to progress wholesale into qvic and beyond
the only thing i can bitch about ont hat list is this:
so basically i spent 40+ hours doing all 3 ikkinz trials and farming all the pieces for absolutely nothing? A reward of some kind of augment or charm slot (ala PoP flags) would be nice for finishing all the kodtaz/ikkinz content, now it's just pointless....no one is ever going to do ikkinz chamber of destruction just for the loot.
also i think it's pretty funny that 95% of the eq population (and many of the people on this board) complains about "oh GoD is so broken SoE really dropped the ball this time!" but yet only like 20% or less of players have even set foot into uqua or ikkinz 7. It's great that you can parrot what you see on AL or LoS's webpage, but maybe you should actually go out with your guild and actually fight the mobs in a zone before you act all indignant about it?

True Met, but when not-so-uber people see 'the great ones' having difficulties they are completely disinclined to even start in that direction.

I wouldn't say that GoD is boring. However getting anything done in it seems to be a pain.
Shitty Crs for trial folks...long ass trials for those without the proper group make ups..unforgiving mistakes in certain zones means adds on death and a nice wipe. Lockout timers..
Not sure if all guilds have this problem, but how many people die on the way to the raid normally for Uqua? Granted we don't have alot..but we typically have about 4 that need to be dragged or went the wrong way.
Add in the DX9 people and mobs falling through floors
And yes while some of the loot is quite good and Time comparable up to what I have seen, it doesn't seem like much thought was put into the items....at least from a bard standpoint.
However I do like some of the encounters I have seen so far and the zones. Alot of it reminds me of old places and mobs killed ...but kudos as well for adding some completely new types of encounters as well. It was actually kind of nice being wanted for my dps the other night when a bard HAD to be the one to kill a mob=p.
Hopefully it continues to improve as GoD zones open up.

To Little To Late
Another thing to think about...
FoH quits EQ, posts the glory that is WoW Beta. Many people look up to FoH as an icon for EQ overall. They quit EQ or are planning to, to play WoW.
WoW is new, its from a VERY established game maker that has made many Game of the Year games. The Warcraft line of games has MILLIONS of fans worldwide. WoW is THE only real threat to EQ ever, and they know it. They are seeing now what a BETA of a game is doing to them, and they are trying to save their ass. EQ has been going downhill for awhile, but with no competition to EQ's reign, they didnt have to worry to much.
Now they are worried, and like I said, its to little to late.

i dont think anyone really cares about FoH anymore
Most people didn't care about them, or any other guild to begin with.
WOW will do ok, but from what I've seen, its not revolutionary, just another MMORPG, with the Blizzard fun spin on it.
I do think mass inviting uber guilds from EQ is a mistake, if thats indeed what they are doing. I certainly don't want a game thats populated and mainly influenced by extreme powergamers. The days where MMORPGs sucked up anymore than a few hours here or there are long gone, as they are for many others, I think. If WOW is making a game based on hardcore guilds, I think it'll bite them in the ass.
WoW towards the end of beta will be less buggy than EQ will ever be on live servers.
SOE could learn a thing or two about marketing their product and developing their game. WoW offered numerous beta accounts to the high end EQ guilds and the effects are showing already. Guilds got sick of dicking around with Sony's shit; WoW brings them something fresh since most players have been with EQ for 4-5 years. 3 EQ guilds already making a full switch and WoW is barely in beta; goes to show how much these players are already enjoying the game.
I cancelled my account Sunday night - no more l337 strats for you, Lamens.

There is a difference between difficulty and broken content. Yes people were PISSED about the Rathe and ppl were PISSED about Uqua. There is no excuse for putting out content that is only 50% completed. If WoW is everything I have heard it is I will gladly give up this game for it. GoD is decent. I have had alot of fun there and alot of times where i wanted to murder someone. I am not looking foward to OoW at all though because of the way GoD has panned out.

You missed out on bugged primal insect spitting out his AE DD every second.
You missed out on bugged Smith Rondo.
You missed out on Cragbeast Queen rape.
You missed out on pre-nerf Singular Might trial where the DD had 150k hp.
You missed out on the shit hole known as Uqua v1.0. The changes to that zone deserves subcategories of its own:
- 20% less hp on the mobs
- 1000% increase in ae blocker item drops
- death spawn adds only staying up for 10 seconds, not 1 minute
- death spawns hitting for less
- respawns of all mobs when you fail to clear a trap trigger
- 4-7 day lockout timers after killing enraged/furious/guardian
- numerous changes to all of the AEs in the zone
- complete Barxt AE removal
- channelers actually becoming active at 40% (write that l337 strat info down!) instead of making Barxt immune and the script stopping completely
I probably missed a few minor things with Uqua but you get the point. After dealing with that crap expansion after expansion and then having the balls to release info on their next expansion before tuning the current one was just a few more nails to seal the coffin shut.
I really hope WoW comes out with a bang and delivers a big slap in the face to SOE.
WoW wont appeal to everyone. I for one do not enjoy it one bit.. given its still in beta and I cant bitch about it yet due to that.
I cant see Blizzard turning out expansions fast enough to keep the high end gamers content. However, only time will tell on this.
As for EQ I still enjoy EQ but I do not enjoy GoD and most likely will despise whatever it is the next one is called. Same 5 graphics for the whole expansion no matter what anyone says about the particle effects is fucking LAME. You can fight the barxt model in natimbi and every other zone ooooo how cool is that. From the screenshots of the new expansion the models are the SAME as GoD
Whether or not I buy the next expansion depends on how the end of GoD turns out and if we keep inviting people like Jirig.
J/k Jirig.

I liked the bugged v 1.0 GoD, their fixes gimpified what I thought were challenging encounters.
If I wanted things to be easy I would have played Diablo.
But GoD did kill alot of guilds, some people dont look at the challenge just the loot dropping ...... add into the mix a new mmorph coming out, even if it is beta, and people start exploring other options.
P.S. who is Rynin?
