Sox will probably beat them but Sciosa (sp) is a classy guy and I'm so damn glad that overpaid team won't be going anywhere. Ain't ya glad ya spent all of that money George?

Either way the Cards will win the world series in 6 games.

I'm just thrilled the Red Sox and the Yankees are done. Now maybe we can watch just baseball without the announcers preaching the same, tired storylines.

The Yankees should fire Cashman. He spent so much money for crappy players like Kevin Brown, Carl Pavano and Jaret Wright. It also didnt help when ARod sucked so much ass in the series.

There IS a salary cap. The problem is that they offer fines for violators..Gee that makes sense.

The Red Sox pay twenty percent more than the third place team. That's still pretty fucking ridiculous.

Luxury Taxes

They still need to put a cap on it like football to make it more fair.

The NBA has a pretty good system. They have a cap that is really flexible with numerous ways to move up even if your above the cap threshhold. Then there's also a luxery tax to hit the big spenders if they go above it.

If only bonehead GMs like Thomas would stop overpaying for bigs the system might work.
