Best Buy: Are they always this late?

Post by Leadaira »

I went to Best Buy to take care of my computer. My husband plays BF2 on it and since its resources have been robbed by what is believed to be spyware/viruses. My husband has to play BF2 on low and then its still sluggish. I paided roughly $328 for them to clean my system and instal spyware sweeper on it. It paid even more for it to be done within 2 days. Its now been 2 days. They still don't have it competed. They are requesting 2 more hours to work on it. I requested what more needs to be done.. They said it needed more work... Two days and it still needs more work???? This isn't right. I pay them hundreds just to be told they cant get the job done on time???? Shouldn't I get a discount for the computer not being ready?

Hahaha. You took your machine to Best Buy to get it fixed. That was your first mistake.

WTF I don't even pay that much to get my car fixed.

Tell your husband to stop looking at/downloading porn and mp3's over AOL messenger or stop whining about playing BF on low settings.

MP3 via Kazaa lite. ^^^^

Just got a call, they said its because there are 3 different accounts on the computer. They said they have to run the tests on all 3 accounts. Is this right even though they are all on the same harddrive?

That didn't answer the hard drive question. I am no computer expert, thats given.... Its a 3rd generation computer also. Does this mean that all 3 accounts have to have the tests run on all of them?

first off max you should pay is about 110 for virus a spyware repair. i.e. you just got a best buy fucking.

Second dont take your pc to the "Geek Squad".
For Starts most dont even know what a A plus Cerification is or a Microsoft Cert, Let alone a High School education.
and Second they are minimum wage slaves. These bitches would not know Sasser from Apropos.

Take it to a reputable COMPUTER shop not some place that sells washing machines, tvs and batteries for your dildos.

Lastly Kaaza lite is most likley where you got alot of your problems from in the version of virus and such. Usually booting up a computer and seeing Kazaa or kazaa lite on there is a precurrsor to a large virus bill.

depending on your computer is depending on what your machine needs to play a game like BF2. Alot of users believe they have the holy grail of Dell computers only to realize the 399.00 means you took it in the ass with sand on the rubber.

You need to look at the video ram for the video card, ram, and processor speed. If the video card is on board you got screwed.

OK, that seals it. Starting my own spyware removal business.

I couldve had your comp cleaned and running well in a couple of hours, none of this two days shit, for half the price that BestBuy is charging you.

Im glad idiots overcharge for computer services. Leaves a nice niche for people that arent into ripping other people off to make some money.

And by all means, please keep stealing music. Just ensures I get to come back and do the same thing in 6 months.
You were right Tikker. We suck.

Around here, people charge $50 for spyware removal, and that's high

generally there's enough freeware crap out there that you should be able to do it yourself np

aye
if there are virus yeah we goto around 110.00 depending on data recovery and viral dmage.

For example...had a gentleman last year when Sasser first came out, he got nailed with it the day after it was announced with a high threat rate. He had that one and parity32...

Wanna see a grown man cry tell him he might have lost all his business information. Esp during a IRS Tax audit. He casually forgot to update for say...4 years.

Ok, So if Kazaa Lite isn't a good source for MP3s who is? I won't be doing Best Buy again.

My Computer is a Pent 3.0 HT, 1 gig of 533 mhz (Could be wrong on mhz), 160 Gig HD, Geforce FX 5950 Ultra 256mb, Audigy 2 ZS. Do you thihnk they have a history of taking parts out of peoples computer?

no, I doubt they steal

do you want to buy your MP3s? or just steal them?

if you want to steal them, just keep using kazaa lite

if you want to buy them, hit up itunes, or just go to the library, borrow a CD, and rip your own

ps, your video card is semi shitty by todays standards

Kazaa lite is actually useable by people who are careful. It doesn't have the embedded spyware components that the normal version of Kazaa does. You just need to be very careful to scan everything you download before you do anything with it, and know what you're doing.

Obviously, that's not an option with Leadaira and husband, but the mere presence of Kazaa Lite doesn't mean someone is screwed.

Doesn't the newer versions of Kazaa Lite have spyware, too? I thought I read somewhere that if you upgraded then you got the new improved spyware version.

Yeah, the new Kazaa lite has spyware since it is put out by Kazaa and the old kazaa lite people are constantly blocked. Plus people put all kinds of bad stuff on Kazaa and companies put static MP3s of the same size and title to screw with you.

If you want free song learn how to use google operators.

Much more complicated, but you won't get anything bad unless you are really stupid.

As for your computer, wipe the drive and start again.

I took my computer to BBuy a couple weeks ago after it wouldn't boot up. I mentioned that my vid card and power supply were old. Surprise! They ran a bunch of tests and told me I needed to replace my power supply and video card. I did and it still didn't work. Then they run a bunch more tests and tell me it's either my AMD chip or my mobo. WTF.

Then I go for a refund, and the turd tries to tell me that the labor for installing the power supply isn't refundable. I just gave him a look and he buckled. Geek Squad is worthless. Less than worthless. But I did manage a full refund and bought a laptop online, and soon an Xbox360. Laterz
