World of Warcraft settings

Post by Ouchyfish »

How do I know what to set my monitor refresh rate at? Also, that setting to the right of refresh rate, forgot what it was, but what do i set that on?

Is there some relationship between my video card settings and these settings? I am fuckin clueless when it comes to graphics.

Thanks in advance!

do you have a crt, or a lcd?

if you have an lcd, it should have a native refresh that you pretty much need to leave it at

for crt, generally the faster the refresh (the bigger number) the better, but for the most part, you have to play with it, and see what's easiest on YOUR eyes

For me, I always like 75-80hz on my crt

my lcd's are all 72

However... most current video cards have refresh rate settings that go way up to 120hz and above, while most monitors can't handle that. If you set your monitor to a hz level it doesn't support you'll get the dreaded 'no signal' or just a black screen. You'll then have to reboot into safe mode, change back to a default hz number and then try again.
