Am I the only one that thinks they were absolutely lame for firing their old composer (Original - Velious), who actually wrote (gasp) clear and memorable melodies that fit well with the environment, and replaced it with some new guy (PoP - Recent) who basically just put a bunch of wandering ominous noise as the music for all the zones?

Or does no one else care? XD

Now you walk into 80% of zones and its just low bass noise and trumpets making loud sounds in seemingly random fasion, with occasional percussion clatterings. I'm really big on video game music, but EQ is one of the few games I've turned it off on.

I bet a lot of you could hum the Rivervale/Qeynos/Boat/Felwithe/Ect themes even after all this time... how many of you can hum the Wall of Slaughter music? :P

I think they should hire Squarepusher and Aphex Twins to make all the EQ music.

man, i used to hang out in rivervale all the time just cause the rockin tunes. halflings :balloons:

i haven't had music or sounds in eq since 30 minutes after i installed it for the first time. all of the songs were totally laughable i thought. that'd be sweet if aphex twin did the music for EQ haha

From talking to Smedley (at the guild summit) he said that 90% of all EQ crashes were caused by the original sound/music designer(pre-luclin)

whether the composer and coder were the same guy, i'm not sure, but I was under the impression that it was

In the 5 years of EQ that I played I've never heard any of the music. Always disabled it and played winamp in the background.

yeah I'm sorry if I'm mean but nothing pisses me off more than people who hurt other people without them being able to do a damn thing about it. You're bringing this child into the world, the LEAST you can do is make sure they start out on an even playing field.

Back to the music--

I started in 2001..was the music fixed by then because I didn't have any crash problems..I did always see something dying as soon as i zoned in though.."A klicnik drone dies."
