Priest specs
I have a 58 priest. I have been told several different things on the subject of when to respec from Shadow to Holy. The general consensus is to wait until 60 to respec. However, I have come up against some recent grief from people bitching about Shadow specced priests in instances. I have never had any problem keeping people healed in groups with the exception of overzealous rogues who think its fun or cool to out DPS the tank. They steal agro and proceed to be pummled.
My question to anyone with knowledge on the subject is this; When should a priest respec to Holy?

i didnt respec til 60 then I respeced again because 1 ) my guild is gimp and takes months to learn anything ( razoregore, rag ect )
Mc is so trvial shadow speced I still am one of the top healers and in the top 15 dmg easily.
tell ppl to shut the fuck up and not suck at their class and they wont have to worry about the heals not landing. More often than not its some lvl 60 mage in all greens that goes ape shit or some rogue that just sucks in general.
I would wait til 60 really you loose your ability to solo well ( until next patch ) with holy and it is mindnumbingly boring.

Just don't tell them you're shadow and most the time they won't know. As long as you know how to play you'll be fine. I'm still in gimp gear, have 34 points in shadow, and end up near top of healing and really never had any complaints. It's nice because you can do fine in instances and then totally own in battlegrounds if you want.
Now for next patch things are totally going to change, you'll probably see a lot less shadow priests around and a lot more smite dmg builds.

Stop telling them you are shadowspec 99% won't be able to tell the difference.
This is much like druids having a spec that did not include innervate, just don't tell the group you don't have it. When they ask for it tell them its down.
Or Feral druids healing, people wouldn't take them because they were not resto, if you don't tell them they don't ever know the difference.

Me + my girlfriend play wow together, her a priest and me a warrior. She was shadow all the way up to 60. Even in instances she had no problems keeping people up and used vampiric embrace. She did get a LOT of grief for it though after we breezed through the instance people thought twice about condeming all shadow priests.
They do have a very bad reputation for not healing.
But once we joined a raiding guild and went to MC she immediately became a subpar healer. She respec'd to holy/discipline the next day. Because of a low mana pool, no mana conservation, etc she found herself always running out of mana. Now she's 7/8 prophecy and 3/8 transcendence and arguably one of our top 3 priest healers! No I'm not biased.
There are some nice options for shadow/discipline now that could make a shadow priest a DPS class in raids. Who wants a nuking priest even for the shadow vulernability?
P.S. Ebonroc SUCKS ass!

I just took a shit.
