He says it's really helped his sleeping needs.
He gets on, looks for a group for 15 minutes, can't find one and goes to bed.
Damn, there ruins the only reason I'd buy it. I thought groups were easy to come by?

So, let's review: The game isn't for the hardcore because they'll eat the content too quickly. It's not for the casual gamer because it's impossible to play on your own. Dungeons and Dragons Online is very specifically crafted for folks playing with other people at a non-hardcore pace. And in a way I think that's a good thing. It's good they have a target audience in mind, and if I were planning on adopting DDO as my game of choice that would probably be a good description of me. Just the same, it's a very bold decision to make. Only time will tell for sure, but I have a feeling it's a decision that will come back to haunt them. In the meantime: If you've got a group of regular online gamers you play with, you and your crew should consider giving DDO a try. It's got some interesting new elements that make it stand quite apart from most other Massive games. Don't be surprised if you get bored of it sooner rather than later, but if you and your group are tired of raiding Molten Core for the hundredth time this should keep you out out of Azeroth for a month or two. Hardcore gamers should stick to whatever they're playing now. They'll eat this title for lunch and find themselves frustrated with the lack of endgame content. Casual players should just keep on moving. If you're not willing to commit the time and energy to the constant search for a group, you won't find anything to do here. At the end of the day, DDO is a game with a great deal of promise squandered by some very confusing design decisions.

Wow!
Bought this 2 days ago. Everything about this game blows. It will be dead faster than you can say "Star Wars Galaxies". Yet another promising license wasted on a piece of shit game... Where's the Shadowrun MMORPG?
Gruns
P.S.- Fuck Warforged.

Like Harri said the Warforged are in the basic Ebberon campaign setting which is what DDO is based in.
Say goodbye to Greyhawk and Forgotten Realms.

OK. Been giving this game a serious shot over the past week. Played maybe every night. My review so far is thoroughly mixed.
The only thing it does well at all is the dungeon crawl. The game is pretty rough around the edges, and content is pathetic. Repeating missions is mandatory because there arent enough missions to get you all your xp.
There are no outside areas as far as I can tell. Just a town, with missions inside different buildings. You go to a tavern, meet up with people and regen, and go on a mission. No crafting, no horses, no boats, no housing, no nothing.
BUT. The dungeon crawling is exceptional imo. The missions can be extremely difficult, and extremely satisfying when pulled off. The game is not easy at all. So, despite not having much else, it does the main thing its supposed to do, give you a good dungeon crawl, pretty well. The negative here is that its new to me, and could get repetitive if things arent kept fresh heading up to 10th level.
Anyway, anyone else still playing this game? I can't decide whether to go past the free month. Im thinking no. But the game isnt all bad at all.
