Annual hot dog eating contest

Post by Phlegm »

Kobayashi won his six title in a row earlier today. He broke his own world record when he ate 53 3/4 hot dogs in 12 minutes. This year it was more competitive. Joey Chestnut from San Jose was second with 52 hot dogs eaten.

So if we assume each hot dog has 13 grams of fat (conservative estimate), that comes out to 698.75 grams of fat. Damn. Also, if we assume each hot dog has about 150 calories, which is again, conservative, that comes out to 8062.5 calories. Now that's an American diet.

I actually watched the last half of this on TV while flipping through the channels. The second place guy had like 52 hotdogs. The third place was distant with 35ish. A chick.

Its not actually eating, it doesn't all go in the stomache, it literally gets backed up in their system and they throw it all up almost immediately after the contests.

I would have a hard time getting 2 down in 12 minutes.

They stretch their stomachs before competitions

I see that as cheating

That chick lives in the same city I work. She's on a lot of local radio shows and news shows. She is a very tiny girl.

It isn't the same. They consume massive amounts of water until their stomachs expand and starve before hand.

Vomit up the water, rinse, repeat.

Stomach stretches immensely by this process.

And swimmers generally shave every portion of skin that is exposed to the water and alter what they normally eat just before a meet. Whats the difference?

Sounds like someone’s lamenting his 2nd place finish at the New Bedford County Fair pie eating contest.

they actually train for that shit harrison. saw the crap on MTV flippin through channels. "the real life of a competitive eater" or something, watched that japanese guy go to some restaurant and eat like 22 pounds of food or something horrific like that. there was another scene at japanese place where the plates of food are on a little conveyer belt near the table and you pick and choose what you want to eat. fucker ate like 110 plates worth of shit all stacked up on his table.

others guys were eating like 5 lbs of lettuce, pudding, and all kinds of shit to make their stomachs expand. all months before the competition.

I havent laughed like that since I was a little girl. (Note: this would have been funnier if I was not, indeed, a girl. But just roll with it.)

I'll bet those weren't hot dogs from the Costco or Home Depot snack bar.

I get full off of very little food. I would fail miserably in an eating contest of any sort.

I just sat down and watched this.
One of the things that will almost bring me to vomiting is soggy bread. What was the second place guy doing? Dipping every hotdog into his water. And when he shoved it in his mouth, it looked like he was throwing up around it or drooling massive amounts because of the water leaking back out.

After the contest was over, it took Kobayashi and Chestnut like 3 minutes to chew up the crap in their mouth. I would totally spit that out if it was over and I didnt have to eat it.

Nasty.
Oh, did yall hear all the titles that tiny girl held? There were like 7 foods there.

The soggy bread was started by the first Japanese guy that won this contest. After that everybody copied him. It supposely let you swallow the bread quicker.

What ever in their mouth when the bell sounded counts if they swallow it.
