I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this is a good move. Lets face it, no matter what, people are going to sell platinum, items, characters, etc. At the moment there is no form of regulation on this trade. In doing this Sony can at least attempt to impose some rules upon the practice and potentially save themselves (and other players) some of the headaches this causes.

And if you dont think that would be the case then guess again, because whos around to moderate spam? definately not an employee of SoE.
