Beta 3 is just starting....not sure if that info really helps though.
Inside each person lives two wolves. One is loyal, kind, respectful, humble and open to the mystery of life. The other is greedy, jealous, hateful, afraid and blind to the wonders of life. They are in battle for your spirit. The one who wins is the one you feed.

I wonder what the chances of me getting this running on my laptop will be? It runs EQ2 pretty well.

I'm finished with WoW. I am waiting for a new game so I guess it's a toss up between Vanguard, Warhammer, Lord of the Rings.
Not sure. Anyone have any suggestions?

unless you've got a dual core and a 256+ mb card it'll make baby jesus cry

It's a 3ghz P4 Prescott w/ HT, 1GB ram and a 128MB Radeon 9700.
Guess I won't be buying Vanguard.

well
in theory they could still tune it so that it'll play nicer with older hardware

I never understood why Vangaurd's minimum spec requisite vs. performance was so high. The graphics don't really stand out, nor the animations, particles, except the sky. Everything else looks like a carbon copy of EQII.

They haven't released min specs yet (though it is being built with future hardware in mind, so it will be as much as a stretch to meet as it was to meet EQ2's when it was released).
They have said VG will be released in 1Q 2007.
Tikker, have you played Beta 3 yet?

Yeah
it already runs a lot better than beta2 (beta 2 made my machine cry, beta3 only makes it complain)
it looks VERY much like EQ or EQ2
think Stonebrunt mountains, and you'll have an idea about what the graphix look like
that being said, some of the mechanics have a LOT of potential

Is it a "good" game Tikker? If they work out whatever bugs, is it worth buying from a fun point of view?

it's a revamped EQ
if you enjoyed EQ, you'll probably like vanguard
it's not revolutionary or anything

they tie the beta account to your hardware
sharing the login is instaban now
also, now that it's SOE, it's tied to your station account (ie EQ/EQ2/planetside/etc)

Tikker you said beta 2 made your comp cry, and 3 just made it complain... Mind telling me what your stats are so I can get an idea of what to expect?

p4 running at almost 3ghz, 1gb rambus and a 6600gt
comp cry = under 10 fps at best
complain = 15-20fps at best
I've seen it on a dual core, with a 6800 and it was entirely playable (30ish fps at worst)

What type of setting? Just a single character in the wilderness, or is that with a group fighting / multiple chars, etc?

that's out in the wilderness with nothing graphically intense nearby, jeje
